Since last 2 weeks our Diwali celebrations have been going on. Here in Oman we have a very closely knitted Indian community and we celebrate all festivals with lot of enthusiasm. My friends back home in India tell me, that we celebrate more then they do, which is a fact. People invite each other to their homes for celebrations, we also have community gatherings. On Thursday we had the final invite of the season, which was a very big invite hosted by the group company that I freelance with.
This season I skipped couple of invitations because my friends had also come over from Mumbai for a holiday in Muscat. But this one I could not skip as it was an official thing and it's always good to attend such events for networking. And these informal gatherings also help in building bond with team members. I call these events more like a team building event. This particular one was huge as it was hosted by the Corporate group and they had invited all their group company employees.
The other thing I enjoy about these events is, getting dressed up. I normally do not wear much of traditional clothes except for during these festival times, so this is the time when I get to dress up really very well and wear all my Indian outfits.
Me in a traditional wear, these kind of heavy dresses I can only wear in such big events. On a regular basis they are not very practical.

It's a big gathering as you can see.

That's my office team and hubby also.

There were almost 1000 people, so the catering side also was well spread out

The one thing that is dangerous in these events is the food, you can easily end up over-eating.

With this one all the Diwali events are now over. Very soon it will be Christmas time and again there will be feasting. That's what these last 4 months of the year are for. Celebrate and enjoy with your loved ones.

It looks like you are celebrating Deva Ball with great joy and this event is also very joyful. In Malaysia, there are holidays in various places or all over Malaysia on the occasion of Baby Divya Ball and it is celebrated in a big way.
