Another flower that is commonly seen here is the heliconia flower – many varieties of them. They are ornamental and can be seen almost anywhere, most notedly along sides of the road.
They are also commonly known as lobster claws, and also birds of paradise, due to their resemblance to the birds of paradise flowers.

I didn't know Heliconias were more related to birds of paradise. I thought they are more of banana tree related
Flowers of some varieties of the heliconias looked like birds of paradise. But yes, their leaves look a bit like banana leaves - albeit smaller in size. 😊
