For this week's #sublimesunday, as inspired by @c0ff33a, I took a few photos of the great trees of northern Wisconsin.
Heading back to real life, amid the surging virus around the world, we decided to stop at a county park in north Wisconsin for a "spot of lunch." The park was packed; there was a potluck in the main shelter, tens of RVs camped out in the campground, hundreds of people on a nearby lake beach, and not a single mask to be seen. As we ate our lunch in the shade, I couldn't help but realize how beautiful the trees were earlier this afternoon.
Such a contrast in worlds. As we drove back from our vacation rental today, we listened to NPR and all the world's current reaction to the "variant." I don't know what to think at this point about any of it, but I do know I love the trees, I love the green, and I love nature. That's alright, right?
It's moments like today you a) realize how much life there is in the world and b) how much we need to take advantage of the day. Granted, if I were in this same spot come January, I might have a different perspective. The views would be just as beautiful, especially with the pines, but the Canadian north wind would be brutal.
What a week, and what a Sunday. World news, a six-hour car ride, and hot weather. At least we were able to enjoy the green of the forest for a bit, and get home safely.
Until next week, thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek at my work. Hoping all had a wonderful Sunday too!
Enjoy that beautiful nature around you @sagesigma it looks really lush :)
Thanks for checking it out! Lots of good nature last week...a good reset, hopefully.
Good one we all need a reset at times :)
