Sublime Sunday - Reverse Sunset

Winter is here with nice sunset colors.

I was lucky to see this happening before all the color was gone. Sadly my phone didn't quite catch the real colors and turned them more purple.

I was scrambling around with my daughter trying to find the best lookout point for more color in the sky. This shot turned out a bit better but still not true to the orange red it really was.

Illinois is quite a flat place so it is hard to get a good lookout point where you can see over the buildings to the sky.

I walked up a small hill but there was a huge hospital building in the way. At least this tree was a nice silhouette against the sky.

A bit of color next to an old historic house that is a museum now. By now the sunset was mostly gone.

Earlier on our walk we noticed it starting to turn orange before we went in to look at trinkets in a store.

If I had been up here when the sunset was happening I might have gotten the best shots without too many buildings in the way. You never know when a nice winter sunset will show up. Thankfully we at least got to see part of it happen.

Now its off to check for Santa at this shed in the middle of town. Still not there but soon (probably right after Thanksgiving).

Earlier in the day we went looking for houses in Historic Geneva IL. We figured out that these old historic things though affordable enough at first would be way more problems than they are worth. Lead pipes, shrimpy bathrooms, no dishwashers, super tiny kitchens, mold etc. are some of the many problems to encounter. They look really interesting from the outside and the room interiors are nice and classic looking. Realtors know how to make something tiny look huge with wide angle lenses.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

Great sunset pics 👍 I like the silhouette shot best. Too bad Santa Shack was still closed for the season 😆

This might be the first time my daughter goes to see him, I suspect either huge crying fit or possibly a huge list of demands.

Wow, that is an absolutely stunning sky!

And I love that little blue house too!

Great shots!

It's a bit rare to get these skies here, when I lived in Arizona every sunset was like this but with even more colors.

I love that vibrant pink and orange sunset gradient! 😊

If I had my zoom lens I could have gotten some American Robin silhouettes in some of the trees.

I love that vibrant pink and orange sunset gradient! 😊
