Sighting Birds on a Sublime and Beautiful day

in SublimeSunday3 years ago

My Sunday started with a walk in the park. I finally made it to the park after a week of feeling under the weather and I was so glad to be there. It was a warm day with still a bit of a haze but the cool air in the park made the walk seem absolutely delightful.

For a long time on our walk we did not sight any birds. I always come here in the hope of sighting birds. It was still kind of dark and even though you could hear the birds we could not see them up in the trees. It was on our second round around the perimeter that I heard a call that sounded very familiar. To my amazement it spotted a golden oriole a little further away. I haven't seen the bird in 8 long years, so you can imagine how happy this sighting made me.

I miss my birds watching times after we moved to this our new home. Thankfully I do get to see some birds in the park once in a while. The golden oriole just wouldn't stay in one place, he flew from one tree to another and had me walking back and forth in the park trying to get a few decent pictures. I have always know the golden oriole to be a shy bird from my earlier experiences. He doesn't like to be seen and kept hiding behind the branches as you can see in this image. I did see the female a little further off, but the distance wasn't very favorable to get some decent pictures with my kind of lens.

The ducks are the constants in the park. However, if we go very early we don't see them swimming about. I know that there are many more ducks here, but today only this pair came out bravely while it was still dark.

They followed each other around and seemed to be hunting for fish in the lake. I love seeing their reflections in the water and today this was all I could get. These ducks were at least 40-50 feet away from us in the middle of the lake. So I was happy to get a few good shots.

These birds seem to be so aware of us watching them. They were not worried about the other walkers in the park, but they seemed to be worried that I was aiming my camera at them. I could understand their anxiety, so I moved on.

We walked past the ducks to see a few mynas on the pink trumpet tree which is at the end of its blooming season. This guy was pretty close to us even though he was high up on the branch.

The sun had come up by them and I had to take these pictures against the sun, not the very best of lighting conditions, but I was happy that we at least we got to see these birds. These shots haven't captured their colors or their beauty in anyway, so I apolopgize.

These mynahs looked pretty siting on the tree with a splattering of pink flowers. This bird's dark brown feathers contrasted well with the background. These images didn't turn out too well because of the light conditions.

Any day is an amazing day when I sight birds. However, I need to call a day divinely sublime when I spot a golden oriole. For someone who loves to watch birds this was an extraordinary day I'd say.

Seeing the pink trumpet tree in bloom itself would be treat enough for me. I love these trees and usually drive around the city just to see these trees in bloom.

The yellow oriole is great, I always have problems finding it eventhough I sometimes hear it.

I know what you mean by that, these guys are really shy and hide so well among the foliage. Thanks for stopping by @florian-glechner . Have an awesome day.

Just hearing a type of bird called Oriole for the first time from you. I love birds too especially some cute and beautiful ones. Hi @sofs-su, been a while! How are you doing ma?

I am always glad to meet bird lovers.
Orioles are really pretty birds but quite shy.
I am doing fine by God's grace @princessbusayo .
Have an amazing day.

I wish you awesome day too.

That yellow bird looks like the black naped oriole we see here quite often.

The black naped oriole looks very similar to the Indian golden oriole. Except that the eye mask doesn't stretch too much towards the back I guess.
Thanks for stopping by @ace108 I appreciate your inputs.
