Cool place. I like to stand and try to get a feel for places like this. Imagine all the people that have been there before... Petroglyphs take this to another level. Trying to understand what the ancients were communicating.

It used to be a kind of secret place only locals knew about but they finally put a little sign there this last time I went there. The other secret place is the actual location where Cochise made a peace deal, much harder to find but without any petroglyphs. Thankfully the dirt road out there is so obscure not many people can even get there to cause vandalism.

There is a place in Kansas called Council Grove supposedly the first place the US negotiated a treaty for right-of-way through Indian lands for the Santa Fe Trail with the Osage.
Yeah the vandalism is rough around there, people spray painting rocks and whatnot. Metheads with paint cans can't be underestimated in the damage they can do. I haven't been to Kansas since I was a kid. Next time we do a road trip I'll look up the council grove.
