This month has been a rollercoaster ride weatherwise. Between the cold snaps, lack of sunshine, and the rain that just seems constant this month, I'm really missing summer weather.
I thought today that I would just pick some random photos that I took and share them with you all. The above photo is of a Morning Dove that loves to drink and bathe in the little pond. Her mate is nearby but not in this photo.

The pond gives us so much joy and entertainment with all the visitors to it. This summer I had a lot of frogs to photograph.

There were 7 all together that we could see at one time. They like to stay near each other and one afternoon I actually saw two go after the same bug. lol

This pair of Mallard ducks often visit the pond too. They swim and dunk for whatever's on the bottom of the pond. Every year I get to sit on the porch and enjoy the two of them. Often, they will lay on the grass side by side sunning themselves after being in the pond.

This is Mika's favorite spot to sit on the porch watching for any squirrel that may enter into the yard. She always chases them out and a few times almost caught one. I get nervous since I don't want her to get bit or hurt the little critters.

These two young squirrels are fighting over the sunflower seeds I gave them. The male keeps chasing his sister away.

Another visitor daily, is this young rabbit. Occasionally we see it's parents but mainly this little guy. He stays fairly close to the hedgerow at the edge of the property where the grass is much taller and he can hide easily.

The bees are always a pleasure to watch as they gather the nectar from all the flowers. I still had a lot of the bumblebees on the Zinnias up until mid-November.

Most of all, I miss sitting every day on the porch with Mika watching all the wildlife. We certainly have a variety of creatures to enjoy and of course there are all the gardens to care for. Now, that it is cold and rainy, plus we have had to snowfalls to date, being on the porch is out of the question. I miss summer already!

You do have a lovely yard! Our weather has been quite mild for November, and we haven't had any snow yet, which is weird. But we've had rain off and on, which is typical.
Thank you, it seems to rain every two days lately. It's hard to get outside to do anything. But I manage to keep busy. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I think because we've not had a real winter here in years, it's caught me by surprise. My hope is that it will get really cold before it snows and kill off the ticks.
Loved looking at your summer photos, particularly the frogs. :))
I agree, we could use a good cold snap for the ticks. I adore the frogs, and they are a hoot to watch. Hope your feeling strong this week for Thanksgiving.
Actually, not particularly. It’s one of the “anniversaries”. Pretty much trying to go through the motions…
