After birds squirrels, marmottes, ground squirrels and hamsters are my favorite animals and the one that I probably take a lot of pictures of. So I had to test my new Nikon Z6II with these animals in the forrest. And since they are also one of the more reliable animals they are probably also easier to photograph than others. You just need to know a spot where they are and wait for some time for them to show up. Then the only challenges is to get close enought for some good pictures but usually this is not so much of a problem since they are living in a forrest by the city and used to humans wanderung through it.

At the forest near the cementary where I often take these kinds of pictures there are people who leave some nuts for the birds and the squirrels so you just need to wait near a bird feeder and you probably will succeed in finding and taking some pictures of the squirrels. Of course a long lens like my 150-600mm is helpfull but with enough patience even shorter focal lenghes can be used to suceed. Since it was very dark in the forrest this was a good possibility to test the higher ISO Ranges of my new camera and I am pretty amazed on the results.

Gorgeous! ☺️ In a black coat. Stunning photos!
Winter coat for the squirrels.
I also like these challenges. You took beautiful photos. I have not tried 6400 for ISO. Is there noise in the photos?
You can see a little noise in there when zooming in, but it is reasonable.
Squirrels, marmottes, ground squirrels and hamsters. Amongst of these animals, it is only hamsters that I used to see and touch in the reality. Hamsters is a cute animals and I love it I used to see it and interact with them when I visit my friends house. She really good At taking care of any types of animals since she is a person who into wildlife.
I am lucky that all of these live here in Austria and I had the chance to see and photograph them all already.
