Hope
Hope is an optimistic state of mind in which everything we desire or aspire to seems to be possible. In this context, hope implies having positive expectations related to that which is favorable to us, and which corresponds to our desires.
People tend to cling to hope as a last resort when we find ourselves in a difficult situation, based on the idea that things will soon get better. This confidence acts as a stimulus and gives us strength and peace of mind; on the other hand, when it is lost or difficult to achieve, life becomes an uphill battle against obstacles.
A few weeks ago, I was downtown attending to some personal matters. While I was waiting for answers to my paperwork, I took the opportunity to visit and photograph the Immaculate Conception Church, the first catholic temple built in Barquisimeto, victim of the earthquakes of 1736 and 1812 that reduced it to rubble.
The current building dates from 1853 after years of reconstruction and restoration work, with a neoclassical architecture with the presence of baroque and Creole elements, characteristic of Venezuelan churches of the time.
La esperanza es un estado de ánimo optimista en el que todo aquello que deseamos o aspiramos parece ser posible. En este contexto, la esperanza supone tener expectativas positivas relacionadas con aquello que nos es favorable, y que se corresponde con nuestros deseos.
Las personas solemos aferrarnos a la esperanza como un último recurso cuando nos encuentramos en una situación difícil, basados en la idea de que las cosas pronto mejorarán. Esta confianza actúa como estímulo y nos proporciona fuerza y tranquilidad; por otra parte, cuando se pierde o resulta difícil alcanzarla, la vida se vuelve una ardua batalla contra los obstáculos.
Hace unas semanas atrás, estuve por el centro de la ciudad atendiendo algunos asuntos personales. Mientras esperaba respuestas a mis trámites, aproveché de visitar y fotografiar la Iglesia Inmaculada Concepción, el primer templo católico construido en Barquisimeto, siendo víctima de los terremotos de 1736 y 1812 que lo redujeron a escombros.
La edificación actual, data de 1853 luego de años de trabajos de reconstrucción y restauración, contando con una arquitectura neoclásica con presencia de elementos barrocos y criollos, característicos de las iglesias venezolanas de la época.
