Hello Hive friends this is my first participation in a @travelcontest. I will try to briefly tell the story of this photo.

Our little big adventure

On October 9, 2015, we were in the city of Puerto Ordaz (Venezuela) my husband, son and I in the company of a cousin of my husband and his family. We had traveled the day before to enjoy a game of the national soccer team (La Vinotinto). The photo in question was taken the day after the game. We decided to enjoy a boat ride offered by the hotel where we had spent the night. We took the boat right there at the edge of the hotel, which was on the banks of the Caroní River that flows into the Orinoco River on one side.

We were all very excited and the ride offered to leave us for a while on a kind of fresh water beach after the ride, and then return to the hotel. But soon after we set sail we realized that a storm was coming. However, the boat manager did not show any concern. The closer we got to the waterfalls on the river bank (Salto la Llovizna), the uglier the weather became. I had not brought a bathing suit for the trip, as we were only going to a soccer game.

So it was with jeans and a t-shirt, I went for the ride. For the storm rocked the boat from side to side, it also jumped with a runaway horse, but still the man who was driving it got closer and closer to the small but choppy waterfalls we had on the way.
In spite of the scare, we enjoyed the ride very much. Although the rest of the passengers were strangers, they were all very well behaved and brave. I think the worst could have happened, but no one thought about it at the time, we just enjoyed the adventure. Especially the children were very brave. Because of the weather and how dark it had already become, they could not take us to the promised beach.

Instead they took us to a big rock, when it was already very dark and encouraged us to climb up there. But it wasn't that easy, it was a kind of small mountain. But when we climbed up, there was a natural pool that flowed into a waterfall on the other side. So we bathed there for a while.

Yes, me with my jeans and shoes and everything. We were all wet from head to toe, so it didn't matter. After a while we had to go back. However, when we got to the hotel we had to wait for about two hours, until the amount of water that distilled from my clothes was not so much, so that without making such a mess I could go up to the room.

Then I thought about how ugly it could have been, and how scary it was. But the truth is that it was an experience of another level and we enjoyed it very much. I wanted to post other photos that would show the adventure better, but the rain affected the photos a lot and few were the ones that came out sharper.
