"Don't Forget : Life Doesn't Wait for You to Take Pictures."

Today is 9th of May. We have been at home with my daughter and wife for 51 days...

Hello friends, the subject of our article today will be the advices about street photography.

  • Always Carry Your Machine with You: Do not leave your machine at home. Even with you on your way to work. Carry it around your neck or shoulder so you can reach it quickly if possible.

  • Own Light and Small Machines: I recommend using compact or mirrorless machines instead of large DSLR machines. The fact that the machine is small will make it light with ease of use and will not tire you. In addition, large machines attract people's attention. In some cases it may be bad for them to think of you as journalists. Therefore, you can create the impression of an ordinary person passing by with a small machine.

  • Lens Selection: In fact, street photography can be taken with all lenses. However, in terms of perspective, fixed focal length lenses such as 50mm, which give an image similar to the perspective of the human eye, are the most frequently used. Of course, this lens is 35mm for multiplier machines. On the other hand, a fixed focal length lens educates the photographer more about framing since there is no zoom.

  • Camera Settings: In street photography, photos with a wide field of view and a clear depth of field are usually taken. Of course, the curtain speed is drawn high so that there is no movement elongation. Aperture-priority mode ('Av' or 'A' mode on your camera) is often used on the street and, if possible, a photo taken with a diaphragm less than 5.6. If you are taking photos during the day, ASA-ISO should be 200 maximum. The light measurement mode is usually set to matrix.

  • Composition: Taking lots of pictures, reading the pictures you see, visiting the exhibitions, following the publications improve your eyes. Naturally, after a while, you start to take better pictures. The object you will shoot on the street is human, and nobody wants to see a lens pointed at his face. The most beautiful thing is to observe in advance, to revive the photo in mind and adjust the camera and press the shutter button. Nobody will be bothered for taking pictures in a short time.

  • Focus: You will have a very short time of 1-2 seconds to focus. Making sure that your sharpening point is in the right place before this time will save you time.

  • Taking Pictures:As in other disciplines, street photography is a long way to walk by practicing. Taking plenty of pictures, but more importantly, is not reflecting what you look at, but reflecting what you sees, understands, observes.

  • Picture awareness: Observe your surroundings and think about what you can take as pictures, even if your camera is not with you.

  • Picture Reflex: You should learn to be fast considering that you can take instant pictures. In street photography, composition cannot be made by looking through the viewfinder for minutes. Because we, the object in front of us is also human. The machine does not see. Its job is to photograph the picture that we see ,be influenced, interpret and create in our minds. Machine intervenes in human-to-human relationship. And the sooner it stays there, the better. Otherwise, human bond will be broken. First you have to see the photo, how to take it in your mind, where to take it, and what the settings should be. Then you have to make the necessary settings on the camera and prepare your camera for shooting. Then lift the machine to your face and count it from “one, two, click”. In the first second, set the frame as in your mind. Focus on the second second and press the shutter on the third second to take the picture. Then lower the machine. Now his work is done. Don't let it get in between you.

  • Taking Less but Good Pictures: This is only possible by observing your surroundings. The street photographer looks, sees, waits and shoots. The aim is not to take many pictures, but to take pictures with a soul. Instead of taking 200-300 pictures, set yourself a limit. For example ‘I'm going to take 50 pictures today. I will not take more. ”Then your head-and-eye work for more photography, and instead of bad pictures, you will get better pictures both technically and in composition.

  • Create Projects:Create projects for a purpose and shoot for it.

Friends, I wish you all a happy day. We will be away from the streets for a while, but our return will be magnificent. :)
