A city is built step by step.
One building,
then another,
and the illusion of holding on to time
like one holding on
to the sun.
Light,
clouds,
wind caressing the earth
with the dust attached to the walls.
A city can also hide stories,
hide the light and calm
in the storm of the dispossessed,
of those who receive nothing
but are also left in the dust
when the clouds hide the sun
and only walls remain
where balconies hang without stories,
without doors
without hands that wave
with the hope
of holding time.

Una ciudad se construye paso a paso.
Un edificio,
luego otro,
y la ilusión de sostener al tiempo
como quien se sostiene
bajo el sol.
Luz,
nubes,
viento en la caricia de la tierra
con el polvo adscrito en las paredes.
Una ciudad también puede esconder historias,
ocultar la luz y la calma
en la tormenta de los desposeídos,
de los que no reciben nada
pero también quedan en el polvo
cuando las nubes oculten al sol
y solo queden paredes
donde cuelgan balcones sin historias,
sin puertas
no manos que saludan
con la ilusión
de sostener al tiempo.
