There are a lot of temples in Bali. This includes the temples in my village. One of them is called Pura Taman located in a middle of rice farm. The temple festival has finished two days ago, and yesterday we had to pack all the decoration from the temple.
Being a member of the village community, when I had the time or chance, I had to participate in the work.

It was about eight o'clock in the morning when we started to clean and pack all the decoration including banners, wastra (the shrine cloth wrapper) and thetents.

The first thing we did was to disassemble the tents built temporarily in the temple. The tents were used to shade offerings brought by the prayers on the temple festival before. We pulled out the zinc roofs, took off the tent pillars and stored the them away.

On the mean time, some people took out the colorful banners and fold them neatly. The banners needed to be washed later, so it would be all clean when used again next time.
The banners had to be put off the bamboo poles and then folded.

Later we swept the temple yards from litter. It was quite clean already, probably the priests has cleaned it before we came.
One hour later, the work was finished. We stopped and rested while having a chat for moment. Even when there were not so many people coming to help cleaning the temple still we could do it fast. The people who could not make it that day were those work as government workers, teachers, and any jobs they could not leave.
