Security is the most important thing man can think of. we protect our properties using these securities. I thank the Hive learner’s community for giving us the chance how to make our accounts safe. This is important and should be encouraged.
Hive keys are the one door you need to go into Hive. You need it in posting, making transactions, and sometimes changing your keys. I really know much about the keys and that’s how I manage my hive account.
Hive keys are important. I will say they are the account. Because a room without its keys, then there will be nowhere of getting inside. That’s how important the keys are. It helps keep us in the ecosystem to make posts. It also helps in transactions and other stuff. That’s how important the hive keys are. Without the keys, you don’t have an account.
To locate your keys, click on a wallet.
Then click on Keys and permission
And you have it there. you can reveal to see keys when you log in with your activation key.
From the keys, they all have what they do. starting from the Posting key, posting keys help in socializing on the platform. It helps in making posts, commenting, and esteeming posts. Can’t be used for transactions though.
The next is the active key. The active key can be used for socializing as well. but its main use is for transactions and authenticating stuff on the ecosystem. We don’t use it always. we use it when the need arises. Don’t use it in apps or sites you don’t trust. When stolen, one might lose all their hard-earned HBDs and Hive.
The next is the owner key. As the name says, it's for the owner and it owns all the keys, we use it to change all the keys when we suspect we aren’t the only person having it. The owner key kelps preserve our accounts for us. It is the most important key. When someone has it, then the person can own your account.
The last is the memo key. Which is used for decrypting and encrypting messages. When you receive a message on the blockchain, you use your memo key to decrypt it.
Safe is key and always having your keys is another. There should be a backup as to whenever you need it. I have stored mine in my google drive and there isn’t any way someone can have access to my Gmail. This way, I can keep it safe and use the hive anywhere I am even if I don’t have my laptop with me.
