Task 02 - Stage 02: Know Hive, HBD, and Powering Up

in Hive Learners2 years ago

Hello good evening friends #hivelearners, I hope you are all doing well and also hope we all have a great day today.

According to the rules set by the #hivelearners community that every hive account with a reputation of 25-59 is required to upload posts about hive.blog learning and tutorials, so on this good occasion I will again try to review a little about hive, hbd and what is powering up. This is also very important for a hivian to know..

My first post or my first assignment in stage 02 can be seen here about Learning Stage 02 - What is a Hive Key, and How Important is a Hive Key to a Hivian?

Hive.blog is a social media platform based on blockchain. All content or posts produced by its users can be easily viewed on the hive.blog homepage. Every day the hive blockchain prints new hive tokens that are designated as "rewards" to the community. These tokens are then given to fans for their contributions which are judged based on the votes they receive for their content.

While hive is the liquid currency of hive.blog and just like other types of cryptocurrencies, it can be traded for cash. We can buy and sell these hives on crypto exchanges such as Binance, and so on. Apart from that the only way to get hive is here on hive.blog platform.

And Hive Dollars or what we usually call HBD is a token or liquid currency that is obtained by every hive user as a reward for those who upload posts or content. We can also easily convert this HBD to hive and vice versa, we can do all that on the market features in our hive account wallet.

Then the term powering-up, most of us as hive users must have heard this term. This powering-up is very important for a hivian, especially if a hivian is still a beginner in hive. Because the amount of hive power in our account really determines how many posts, comments and upvotes we can do in a day. If a hivian has a large hive power, then it will give us the power to influence our curation value on every user in the hive.

There are three ways for a hivian to have hive power, namely:
a. Earn from every post => This is the slowest way because the earner of the post will be divided by four before being sent to the wallet, some will be converted into HBD and some will be converted into hive power.

b. Buy hives and powering-ups (turn on). => This is the easiest and fastest way to have a lot of hive power, but of course if you are a rich person for sure. All you have to do is buy hives on a cryptocurrency exchange and then convert them into hive power.

c. Get hives via delegation between hivians. => We will explain this method in the next task.

Here are the steps for converting HBD to hive and then powering-up:

A. Step I Open Wallet
Open the wallet, then click hive..

B. Step II, Next a menu with many options will appear. Click market..

C. Step III, on the market display, to do the conversion, in the BUY HIVE Option we must enter the amount of HBD we want to convert where it says TOTAL. Then automatically the number of hives that will be received will be displayed in the place labeled AMOUNT.

D. Step IV, an example of converting 3 HBD to hive.. According to the screenshot above, 3 HBD will give us a total of 3,134 hives. If we agree with the price then we just click buy hive in the lower right corner and wait for our order to be filled and transferred to the wallet.

E. Step V, powering-up (turn on)
Once again we open our wallet, then click hive. But this time we have to click power-up.

After that a new screen appears and we will be asked to enter the number of hives to be turned on. After that click power-up, done..

Ok, that's all for my post tonight about Hive, HBD, and Powering Up. If there are still mistakes in my writing above, I apologize for the limited knowledge I have about Hive.Blog and I also use google translate.
