Inequality Keeps Rising

in Hive Learners14 days ago

Today's world is more divided than ever. And as usual, I am talking about an economical standpoint. Today's world is more divided In terms of personal economy than ever. You will see the wages of different people very significantly. And the gaps between them are widening with every passing year. That is how we are living right now. A select few make a lot of money and get all the amenities and get the general's tax breaks, while the rest of us grind away on meager salaries and face the wrath of income tax, eventually leaving little on the table to actually sustain life. Compared to some 20 years ago, the average person stands at a significant disadvantage.

Prices have always gone up. It is the natural rule of nature. Things arise in price and that is simply how our economy works. That is totally fine as long as your salary also increases and you could actually afford the same things which you always use even when they become more expensive. Only then an economy can grow while maintaining the living standards of the people in it. But here is the fun part. Prices of products have continued to go up, the salary of the average man has plateaued over the last 20 years whereas prices have always been increasing. This might look better on paper because you are giving out less money to your employees which eventually rack up the profit margin. And your economy is overall producing more products which are already more expensive. So that is also a lot of economic output. So your economy grew. Very nice to see you. But your workers salary? It didn't. So the economy really grew but is hollow.

This inequality has led to CEOs earning a lot more money compared to their employees. And the gap is extremely big. This inequality has already caused one big crash, and we might be headed towards another.
