For years now the story of corporate treasuries in crypto, largely revolved around BTC and sometimes ETH. The thought of holding other coins as a store of value is alien but also not seen as a viable option. But it looks like that is changing. As news is coming in about different treasuries are now either planning to or I have already accumulated positions in many altcoins men will say this is just diversification. But if you consider all the real world uses of altcoins like Solana and XRP, can you know that this is not just diversification rather than investment for the future?
Let's go over some of the biggest acquisitions which these companies are making in the altcoin area. First is Solana. I just thought about it yesterday. It is unique to these investors because Solana provides a very good yield on staking. For this high yield, companies are incentivized to invest in it and stake them so that they can run a business model on top of it without losing the principal investment as the yields from the stakes will cover it. Now we come to SUI. SUI has a lot of institutional backing which makes it interesting to investment companies. Backings and high net worth connections. Make SUI a safer bet by providing credibility. The high performance blockchain and deep industry connections positions SUI as a potential future growth multiplier. Lastly, there is worldcoin. WLD is still assumed by money as a scam. It was launched by openai but since then it has been involved with sketchy activities. But I think investors don't care because there are companies which are investing in worldcoin and they aren't focused on decentralized finance or staking rewards. They say that once AI becomes more widespread the need for proof of humanity will become an essential and valuable piece of digital infrastructure and I think they made the whole thing up. Because AI isn't as far as they want you to believe it is way dumber, trust me I know.
These institutional plays into altcoins should be exciting as they technically mean that these cons will rise in valuation. But it also comes with its risks. The methods in which they raise Capital are questionable at times. And then there is stuff like WLD which as I said people think is a scam. But they are investing in it and the price is going up. So it could be a very good thing. And for coins like Solana I think it is going to be a success. But on the flip side I think coins like WLD still need more scrutiny.
