Technology has gone to another level that I never saw it coming. The first time I did my computer training in the year 2005, we were told that sonner or later a lot of people will lose their jobs as a result of technology that is fast approaching.
I don't really know if I should be angry at the people inventing these technology or be happy with them. In a way I am kind of surprised and happy because people are beginning to do things that are unimaginable. We are actually advancing. But what I really want us to look at in this week 196: episode 1 is more of the advantages of deepfake, than the disadvantages. Do you know why I said so? Growth has thought me to accept what I know I can't change and begin to use it for my own advantage.
Technology that is here already can't be changed instead we can think of how to use it for our own good. I have seen some apps that people use today and I marvel at the way it was made. People now use still images of others to make it talk as though it is that same person talking. The other day in TikTok I saw a video of how to make a still image flying as though the person himself is the one flying. People can fake alot of things today and I know that alot of people have been scammed because of the voices of their loved ones that was used to get money from them.
Someone sent me a message through what'sup weeks back and he claiming to be my brother. But before then I was alerted that his number has been hacked. So the people only wasted his time charting me because I had to give him back to back. He got tired and let go off me.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?
Content creation is making wave these days because of that. This is one of the things that I love about technology. If you live in Nigeria you will know that most youths who go into bad things just to keep body and soul together here because their is no job for the average graduate in Nigeria. Our youths are going through alot and the best thing we wish them is to get a good job that will keep them busy. At least the technology that is everywhere today is helping those that wants to be helped.
Like I said before when I started writing this post, I don't want to dwell in the disadvantages and that does not mean that there no area that we can touch. Looking at deep fake today in technology you will know that alot of people are been scammed on daily basis because of how the technology helps people to get others easily and deceive them get their money or properties. Some body's picture was used the other time to scam his family members and also jis voice claiming that he was kidnapped and a ransom needs to be paid. It was after the money was paid that they all realized that it was scammers that did all that.
Many people are victims of scam today, thanks to deep fake videos that was used to get them convinced.
Truly there are advantages to these things , I believe it is well humans who abuse them and make them have disadvantages.
So yeah... There's a good and bad side
