Having looked through the prompt for the week 188 episode 2 of the Hive Learners community and seeing the topic, I smiled.
Is there really anything creativity that should be called or refer to as bad art? This, I will be taking us through in my article today and would address Art in general but will be using my throwback Art pictures. Let's journey together to see how bad I really was, if truly there is a BAD ART.
First and foremost, let's clear anything off our minds that there is a bad art. For every creative mind, sitting, sleeping or standing, and thinks about something or see something which inspires them to bring a work of art to life either in terms of visual art that involves drawings(pencils, paints mixed media/Sculpting) or digital arts or performing arts (dancing, music, theater) or literary arts that involves poetry, spoken words or even writing. Whichever way it may come out, either beautiful or not, does not count it to be a Bad Art.

For every art piece, no matter how imperfect it may look or sound especially on the ones that you can actually reference it to the original in terms of songs or drawing per say (since art is always centered around Drawing or visual art), it takes a whole creativity in expressing themselves in bringing that piece to life (You can grab a pencil or brush someday to try something out or grab a pen to write a novel)
What makes any version of art is the creativity behind the scene. That inspiration and the process of expressing it out in any part of Art, bringing that artistic work to life makes it a Good Art in any way.
Unless it is for a competition, of which it may not be regarded enough to make it through to the winning stage but that still doesn't make it BAD ART.
For every song you think the singer doesn't have a melodious voice, see through the wordings or lyrics of their songs cos that's where the real beauty of art lies.
There may be what we can refer to as Critics and Improvement in Art.
Critics are allowed in art not because of discouraging the artist or rubbishing their work of art or tagging it as bad but just so that there can be improvements by taking to those corrections given.

The first art was made when youths in Nigeria were referred to as being lazy
Now, still making use of my works as practical examples, I remember back then in 2017 towards 2018, at the early stage of my art career as a drawing artist, I would always make the background of most of my commissioned portrait works almost black as the drawing itself like the picture above, which reduces the focus and beauty of the drawing.
Those times as well, I would always focus ONLY on the face since that is the main point of attraction and then give less focus to the clothes the image is having.

Corrections in form of critics came in and I improved on my next art since then. Critics may come privately while some may be publicly but it depends on the mind you get to take those critics that will make it to either be useful to you in improving or stay where you are because you count it as condemning what you've done so far.
Today, I look back to the works I made 6,7,8years ago and I could say there are amazing improvements. Not because those works back then are bad but because they were the best works to me then, better to me than any other thing I could ever think of doing best, having appraisals and private critics on them and upon seeing them years after, I spotted Changes that brought about improvements.
I remember my first thematic art of a waterfall in 2018, lol. The flow of the water was like a pool of spaghetti, hehe but back then I made an amazing piece with all of my heart into it that I was ready to paint web2 platforms blue and black.
There may be mistakes in art but I bet it with you that every mistake made in art is another creativity as long as you're able to have control over what you've made, interpreting it in your own way and not imitating anyone. You are the You when it comes to Art but then you can still give room for critics for personal improvements.
So Never call A work of Art Bad Art. It is UNFAIR to the Mind And Inspiration behind It.

Love how you centred the point around the artist’s review or how his works are seen by others. Yes youre absolutely right because there’s no bad art if it is art. The world art has no boundaries even if it’s just 3 letters, aa far as something is created on a visual surface from expressions and experience that others couldn’t see it makes it worth being art, it already has a storyline and a visual representation to self tell the story. Now someone might say your art is not standard Thats why you have such a take on the notion but that’s gonna be wrong! From 8 years ago your art wasn’t bad it was just surreal and with time you added more details and made it hyperrealism, the more detail you add and in some cases larger size(so you can fit in extensive detailing from zooming out your reference) gives it more life. I love all the drawings but the recent ones are 🔥uou just showed us a magnificent metamorphosis of your art life and you are a perfect example to say and believe that bad art doesn’t exist.

Yeah those are works from 8years ago and I can proudly look back at them smiling to see the improvements so far which shows I've come to learn a lot more.

Yes...art can’t really be “bad.” Every piece carries a story, effort, and emotion behind it. What matters most is the creativity and growth that come from expression

My dear, there is nothing as bad art. Everyone has their ways of being creative and just because something doesn't meet your taste or preference doesn't count it as bad. No art is bad; it only needs some refurbishment.

Art just involve time, efforts and skills cos the more of these on a piece, the more beautiful it comes out and that's why there can't be a bad art
