Sometimes I imagine how my life would have turned out if I had gone to a university outside my country, somewhere like America or England. I strongly believe that things would have been very different for me, both in opportunities and personal growth. Studying abroad has always been one of my biggest dreams because I feel it exposes you to a wider world, a better education system, and different cultures that shape how you see life.
If I had studied overseas, I believe my mindset and confidence would have grown faster. I would have met people from different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs, which would have made me more open-minded and adaptable. Interacting with international students, sharing ideas, and learning how people in other parts of the world think would have added a new level of exposure that is sometimes difficult to get here at home. The environment alone where creativity and independence are encouraged would have pushed me to aim higher.
The people I would have met there would probably have changed my circle completely. I imagine building friendships with classmates who share similar goals but from different parts of the world. Maybe I would have had mentors who believed in my potential and encouraged me to explore my talents more. Those relationships could have opened doors for collaborations, internships, or even global career opportunities. In contrast, being in my current environment has limited those chances because resources and connections are not always easy to access.
Academically, studying abroad would have offered me a more practical and technology-driven learning experience. Many foreign universities focus on skills, creativity, and real-life applications rather than just theory. I would have loved to work in modern labs, attend workshops, and learn from teachers who encourage critical thinking instead of rote memorization. I believe this would have improved my confidence and made me more prepared for the competitive world out there.
Beyond academics, living in a new country would have taught me independence and resilience. It’s not easy to be far from home, learning to take care of yourself, manage finances, and make decisions alone. But I think that kind of experience builds strength and responsibility. I would have learned to rely on myself more, adapt to new systems, and understand how the world truly works.
Would I have arrived at the same spot I am today if I had studied abroad? Honestly, I don’t think so. My experiences, knowledge, and opportunities would have been much broader. I might have achieved more by now, or at least been closer to the kind of person I dream to become. Still, I’m grateful for where I am today because everything happens for a reason. But deep down, I know that if I had studied in America or England, my story would have been written on a larger, brighter page.
some go abroad to study and end up as a drug adict because they couldn't pay for the study , so maybe you are better of after all .
Yes...while some do great,I have seen, they study and never became drug addicts and they do well in life,we all have options to be good or bad irrespective of the circumstances.
Thank you very much 🥰
