There is a saying that goes “Dress the way you want to be addressed”. This has been something that my dad will always say to us whenever we get ready to leave the house. He would scream and tell us to always dress properly because most times people would look at how we dressed before they were able to approach us to talk to us. Nobody will want to approach someone who is dressed like a mad person to discuss something very important.

Our dress talks a lot about us. Different occasion requires a certain way you dress. Nobody would want to wear the clothes you wear to a party for a church program or a job interview. I will always say that dressing is important. Your dress will always show how people will address you. Dress in a rich aunty manner and people will address you like that. Dress like a student and people will address you as a student. Every occasion requires a different and specific way of dressing.
Do you think your physical appearance should be taken into consideration when you go for an interview?
I think Physical Appearance is very important when considering a person during an interview. Your physical appearance would say a lot about you. We cannot avoid the fact that most people are very skillful but then their physical appearance isn’t something to write home about. How will someone know you are skillful by just looking at you? It’s not possible. You have to show yourself in a presentable way after which someone can approach you and know how skillful you are.
During my tertiary institution, we usually project and seminar defense where we are to give an oral presentation of what we have done both practically and also theoretically. During our presentation, the lecturers and professors of the department always let us know that our physical appearance is also going to earn us some points before our speech and explanation of our topic. This made me understand that the way we appear is very important.
Would it be better if only the skill is considered and not the way the applicant looks?
I think both the skill and the physical appearance should be considered. It will be terrible having someone who is skillful and then has an appearance that isn’t pleasant. So both the physical appearance and the skill should be considered before one is employed for a job. No one would like to have someone with a terrible physical appearance moving around in his or her company.
Would you like to change this system if you could?
No, I wouldn’t want to change this system. I believe one’s physical appearance is as important as the skill you portray. So both things go side by side. Skill and Physical Appearance is important when going for an interview. Present yourself in a way that your employer is fascinated and would want to know what else you can offer apart from a smart physical appearance.

I also agreed with this, physical appearance matters in all what we do and it does speak a lot about one's personalities.
They say "Appear the way you want to be addressed" Appearance is very important not just in a job interview but in another meeting as well, cause our appearance tells a lot about us, and it conveys our personality without speaking.
Physical appearance is what is first seen and judged before the skillfilness. People see and conclude about you based on how dressed you are before they even get to know if you are skillful enough or not. Our dressing is a big plus.
We are all guilty of this, we judge by appearance. It is more common.
