In the world we live in there are so many inequalities among humans who fight for status and standards. This is my entry for #hivelearners weekly contest edition 3.
A lot of people this day fights to meet up with standards that are way above them yes, it is good that standard are set because they help us work towards being the best of ourselves but then it feels like the standards are way too much to handle.
This brings us to the topic for this contest (UNREALISTIC STANDARDS).How would life be living in a society where everybody wants to meet up to a particular standard everybody wants to be higher than the other person ,people who are ranking very high get special treatment and while the others are just treated as commoners.
This is not just something that we find only at our workplace, schools, ,life in general sometimes it even comes down to our immediately family ,you would see that some members of the family might be well to do more than others and they tend to look down on those who are below them and the ones who are above treat those who are below them anyhow they want ,like they are slaves or their servants they insult them they make them feel so little about themselves this kind of pressure can even lead a man to go and commit suicide. Life pressures are too much for one someone to use their status to oppress the other person all in the name of meeting up with unrealistic standards.
I have seen kids who attend schools in Nigeria where they are schools that are meant for the elite and if you as a student whose parents are rich, go to such schools do you know what will end up happening they will end up bullying the child. And then this child will be forced to do some certain things or even tell a lie claiming that their parents are rich , borrowing or stealing designer clothes just to feel among and posing with expensive phones just so they can fit in among their peers that is not life.
Even in our workplace it is also the same issue ,some of the workers who are higher than us tend to look down on us and treat us anyhow talk to us anyhow expect us to always be at their beckand call .
I mean why would you treat your fellow human being like that just because you are higher than them and then you see those low class workers struggling doing anything possible even if you need to sleep with their managers just to be promoted because of unrealistic standards .
I don't know if I took it two personal but I can really relate to this and the pressure is too much pressure is way too much we all need to pipe it down a little bit and be ourselves.

The pressure is plenty, and people who try to live up to standards tend to do stupid things to maintain the standard. true that people treat others below them badly, and as a result of that, they try as much as they can to fit in, even going outside their own moral standing.
