We’re now in the last quarter of the year, and 2025 is gradually coming to a close. And even better, we’re getting into the more interesting part of the year. Very soon, people will be getting in the mood to shut down everywhere. It’s going to be quite an experience. There is, of course, a lot to look forward to, because it’s going to be four solid months of finishing up what we started back then in January.
When I think about it, it’s all kind of weird to me. January feels like it came around ages ago, but at the same time, it also feels like it was just yesterday. This year is proving to be the fastest ever, yet so much has happened, and I’ve done so many things so far. It’s been quite the experience, but I’ve been glad of it so far.
At the start of the year, one of my resolutions was to be more outgoing. The past few years were mostly spent indoors due to school and work, and I didn't have time to do anything else. I also saw how much that affected a number of things I needed to do. But I wanted to go out more this year and meet new people. I was tired of being cooped up in one place, doing the same thing day after day.
And did I do that? Yeah! This year alone, I’ve gone to more places than I’ve been to in the past few years. Granted, they’re all in Lagos because I’ve not seen a compelling reason to leave this state just yet. But I’ve also been to many places that I’ve not been to before. Many of these places are parts of Lagos Island, Victoria Island, and even Banana Island.
This moving about has also placed me in the same room with some notable individuals whom many of you might know. Like, I’ve met the Catholic Archbishop Adewale Martins of the Lagos Archdiocese, and even Pastor Emmanuel Iren of Celebration Church International, here in Lagos. I’ve also met notable online influencers like Eric Gugua, Kagan Tech, Triclowns… and even MC Lively, although that was a very brief meeting. I guess once in a while, it’s good to step out and touch grass from time to time, that way, you’ll see that the people we look up to and we enjoy watching so much online, they’re just flesh and blood like you. And if they can do what you’re after, then nothing is stopping you at all.
This has caused a major thought shift for me, because I’ve met so many new people, made new friends, and have started making bold new moves. Things that used to bother me previously no longer do, simply because I don’t have the time or the energy to think about them. That’s just what it is. And I know that I would not have done half of these things if I had just stayed indoors.
Is there still much planned for the rest of the year? Most definitely! There is a lot more in store. I’ll just keep working on my goals and doing my thing. I’m trying to build a brand, and starting it off from scratch is proving to be a bit difficult. But then, that’s no issue for me. I know a thing or two about consistency, and that’s what I’m bringing to the table.
There is still time for me to achieve more this year, and I’m sure that if I keep at it, this 2025 might end on an even better note than I envisioned back in January. I’m staying hopeful and keeping my fingers crossed!
It's okay to be more social,I'm still working on that because I'm always indoor,I just don't like to go out,I would rather prefer to be in my bed with my phone..
I love the fact that you are able to achieve that this year.
Hehe... that was me as well before. I had to force myself to change!
Thank you for this.
Same. I also spent last year mostly focused on work. But this year, I was doing other things that I wished to do, and although that makes me a lot busier, I feel that my everyday life is more fulfilling.
Exactly... so far you're happy about how your day went, then that means it's a good day. You're doing well!!!
You have already done a lot and I am confident in the upcoming months you will do great work. Going outdoors and meeting with new people you rarely do but this year you changed yourself in that case and I think it's a good change. Best of luck and I hope you will be able to build a brand. Beginning may be hard but with time it will become easier.
Yeah... I'm working on that, and I'm going to make sure that in the end, I get it. One way or the other.
Reading about you running into Pastor Emmanuel Iren and MC Lively made the shift feel real. Lagos is basically a conference that never ends, and showing up keeps stacking momentum. Your push for consistency fits that energy and will help the brand take root. Which meetup ended up leading to something you did not expect?
