Sometimes, it’s amazing how you don’t really need to be correct to actually be seen as correct. Your method of delivery can make even the most incorrect things seem correct, and if you know what you’re doing, you can make everything look the way you want. Yeah, there are facts, and there are possibilities. But then, just because something is actually true doesn’t mean that people will actually believe it. If you’ve been in a position where you need people to believe something, you realize that it’s easier to get people to believe as truth only what they want to.
If they don’t want to, you’ll be met with fierce resistance, and you might only end up making things worse for yourself in the long run. That’s how bad it can be. We all have that innate bias buried within us. If you already dislike someone, it won’t be hard to make you believe they did something terrible. It won’t matter if they did it or not, provided that you can imagine them doing such a thing, you’ll simply accept that.

And that’s why the concept of truth is so fragile. You see, many people see truth as facts. But no. Facts are unshakable and incorrigible. But the truth is subjective. When a man kills a trespasser in his home, there could be multiple truths to what really happened; he could have been defending his home from the trespasser, or he could have used excessive force even when the trespasser clearly posed no threat to him. And in an even outlandish claim, he probably didn’t need to kill him at all. He simply did it because he could.
There might be levels of truth to all statements, but which one do you think the homeowner will use? What about the prosecutors, which will they go with? When all is said and done, everyone goes with the truth they’re most comfortable with, and that works in their best interest. If a truth doesn’t work well for you, it could as well be a blatant lie because you’d do everything you can to avoid and resist it. That’s why you can be telling people the obvious truth about people and things around them, but they just refuse to see it. As long as it doesn’t tally with the pretty little picture they want for themselves, everything you say is basically radio noise.

I once heard someone say that in the court, the truth doesn’t really exist. The truth is actually what you can prove. And in a sane court, the only way to send a criminal to prison is to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that they did it. So, even if there’s a 10% doubt in the case, if there’s even a tiniest bit of doubt, they can’t go forward. So, the truth, in these cases, might just be what the lawyers paint it to be. That’s why you’ll see rapists and murderers avoid prison by claiming to be mentally unstable.
Outside the court, in the larger society, we also see it play out. Many times, if you don’t know something and you’re told about it for the first time, you’d most likely listen to the most confident and charismatic person speaking to you, and you’d consider their stance as the truth. It won’t matter if they’re telling lies or not, as long as they’re charismatic, there are many who would believe their words are the gospel truth.
That just shows how bad it has gotten, our yardstick for the truth is simply status, truth, charisma, and in this part of our world, wealth. That’s why you could criticize a rich man, and people will tell you to keep quiet and go make some money. It’s crazy!

Hmmm! I have never seen it this way before. People only believing as truth what I want them to, not what actually is the truth.
I have also heard the experience of people presenting a lie in such a way that I never understood that it was a lie until after some years.
Thanks for sharing
yeah... the truth is just in the presentation. That's just it.

Correct, incorrect, right and wrong can be changed with time and situation. 10 years ago something was wrong may be right at the present time. Cryptocurrency is a very good example. Few years ago using cryptocurrency was a crime in many country but now those country are using it.
Exactly! times and seasons change, and so does perpectives.
