You Are What You Eat

Hello everyone, how are you all doing this beautiful weekend? When I woke up today, the weather was just the best ever, the birds were singing and the air smelled so fresh and sweet. It was indeed a good day to be alive.

After doing my morning routine, I took the time to decide what I was going to eat.

Yes, deciding what I am going to eat is usually a full-time chore for me because I am usually selective in the kind of food I consume.

You all have heard the saying, “you are what you eat”. Well, I can tell you that nothing in that saying is wrong.

You are truly what you eat. The things you allow to go through your mouth now will be the deciding factors in the kind of life you would lead in the future. Just as what you consumed in the past is what is responsible for the kind of health you have.

Food is so important to living things, we literally need it to survive. So it is easy to understand that people usually take more than they should, or a little less than they should. Either way, both choices are wrong and they would not do anything to help you with your health issue.

And healthy foods are not difficult to find, if you do not know you can run some research. There are thousands of sites that have healthy foods listed, just as they have unhealthy food listed as well. You need to start eating healthy and make it a habit so that in time it will be all you know.

The benefits of this can never be overemphasized, its effects might not be immediate and obvious, but in the long run, you will find yourself living cleaner and healthier lives than most of your peers.

So, on this wonderful day, what is that thing you eat that is not healthy for you? The ones you know and those you do not know? You have to put a stop to it and start eating healthy, you need it. The future you needs it. Begin to eat more fruits and vegetables, start on more homegrown diets and reduce the processed foods you consume.

P.S: I am not saying that eating healthy food would guarantee one not falling sick, instead I am saying that when you eat healthy the chances of you falling sick are reduced. You also get to be in top shape and your internal organs will be properly taken care of.

So, on that note, try to eat a healthy meal today. You will thank your stars you did.
