No work/job is secure. In any establishment, there are set rules, which if flaunted, may lead to dismissal (sack). One cannot be sacked just like that.

Actually people have been fired even when they didn't do anything wrong. Companies do something called "layoffs" where they have to drop a lot of their workers because they can't afford to pay them anymore, a lot of it happened during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020/2021. The only place where layoffs rarely happens is in the public sector, but good jobs in that sector is out of reach for the common man who don't have connections with powerful people.
Ps: I just checked your profile and realized you're a web developer (same here), so you should already know that layoffs are very common in the tech world
Atleast, they had a reason; they couldn't afford to pay. Who wants to stay at a job where they do not get paid. It's not charity. But then, I agree that these think do occur.
