Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt monetisation.
I see content monetization as a blessing to this generation, although it may seem wrong because most times people go wide to post crazy content, but it is a blessing to our generation. It has helped to create job opportunities for people, and it has helped to reduce the number of people walking around the streets of Lagos looking for companies to employ them.
Life is so easy and sweet when you sit in the comfort of your home earning cool money without stress or anyone bossing you around. Just sit in front of your laptop or place your phone on a stand and create content, then post it online and cash out your cool money. All thanks to monetisation, thousands of people have escaped poverty, and they are enjoying life.
Let's come down to reality: thousands of students graduate from universities every year, and it is very hard for them to secure jobs. You can only get a good job if you know someone that knows someone, and some who manage to get one are being paid peanuts. At the end of the day, you see, monetising content is the best thing that has happened to my generation; it has helped reduce the high level of unemployment in my country. Almost everyone wants to be a content creator because that is one of the means to survive, paying money at the comfort of your home without stressing yourself.
I know of a friend of mine who is really cashing out big time just by creating content and posting online. I remember how, when she started, many people were discouraging her, but she had the zeal to create content online. While I rush out of the house every day going to work, she is in her comfort zone making three times my salary.
Content creation has really made some of us who we are today. It pains me that people are taking advantage of this opportunity to create some content that is so crazy. Many times I ask myself, 'How did we get to this point?' Whenever I see some weird content online, I am so pissed off that we are misusing this content.
For me, I will not say that content creating has made people lazy because these people put in their time, energy and resources on every single piece of content they are uploading online. You see, this thing called content creating is not for the weak or lazy people; you have to think out of the box and be unique in your content. I can tag people who come online and showcase their nakedness as lazy, but whoever that is creating interesting and educative content is not lazy.
Seriously, I don’t blame people who prefer content over real work. There is no job in my country, and if you manage to see one, the people working in there earn peanuts. The mindset of most individuals is, 'Why work for someone when I can channel my energy, time and resources into creating content and earn more?' So far so good; monetisation has really helped to reduce unemployment and poverty in my country.
