Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt without that university/college.
Most times I always imagine how my life would be if I didn’t attend the university I went to or I didn’t meet certain people in my life. The decisions we take will either make us or destroy us. None of us knows what the future holds; that is why life, they say, is unpredictable. We can’t tell how our life will be. We may think that if you draw back the hand of time, you will not attend the university you are at right now or the one you graduated from, but we forget we can never tell what life will turn out to be if you had gone to that dream school or college.
Coming now to this week’s prompt, my life would be different if I didn’t graduate from that university because it was never my plan to study business administration, but seeing myself in that department left me with no choice other than to study the course. My first semester at the university, I studied as if my life depended on education because I wanted to have a high CGP so that I could be able to apply for a transfer to another institution. After my first semester, I have to accept my faith and come to the conclusion that what will be will be. Whatever happened in my life, there is a reason for it.
One question I can’t answer is will life be better or worse if I had gotten admission to my desired university and studied my preferred course, which is mass communication? I could have met different types of people and not the circle of people I know today. Everything will be different from the people I know today. If I had studied mass communication, I should have toured places because that is the nature of the work; my life would be totally different from my present life.
My school built me into the woman I am today because if you are not strong, you can’t survive in my school. I am grateful for the kind of friends I met in school; they are determined and focused people with the mindset to make the society proud and their family as well. You don’t depend on our parent; once you close for the semester, we all will work to make money that will sustain us in school. That I am independent today is all thanks to them.
We didn’t neglect our main aim in the university, which is to come out with good grades. We were so committed and focused when it came to our studies. I am grateful for the people I met in university because they changed my mindset in life. To date, I am a strong woman who doesn’t depend on anybody to survive.
Right now I don’t care how different my life could have been if I had gone to a different university. What matters now is that I am happy for the things I have been able to achieve. I have been able to meet many people and some opportunities that sharpen me. I don’t have time to think about what could have happened. I will keep pursuing my dreams. I know that life could have been different if I had gone to my preferred university, but in all, I am thankful for the one I study at.
