Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt, 'Banned for Life'.
The world keeps advancing every day, and technology is one of the things that makes life so easy. At the comfort of your home, you can communicate and connect with people within your locality and outside your locality and do some transactions.
In our early twenties, we only had limited social handles. Fast forward to these present days; there are many social handles promoting social connections and making life so easy and fun to live. It offers us many opportunities. I believe that there is nothing in existence that doesn’t have advantages and disadvantages. Social media has helped to promote our business. I will not lie; social media has helped the lives of many, but the way people are going about social media this present day is something else. Many people have lost their lives all in the name of visiting someone they met on social media.
None of the social media is good, but regardless, all the social media can’t be banned and closed because many people survive from the money they earn from these apps.
Most times you only talk about the good part of this social media, neglecting the negative effect it has on people. If it were within my power, the social handle I would ban is TikTok. With the way things are going, the space is too toxic and manipulating, and if one didn’t limit the use of the space, it could affect the person negatively.
Of course TikTok pays people when their account is monetised, but it is really affecting the younger ones negatively. I don’t know if I am the only one that sees that space as a place full of fake life. TikTok is one app I see as a very deceiving app I have come across.
TikTok is one platform I know is not for the weak; there is much criticism on the platform, and it only takes someone with a strong mind to overcome the criticism on the platform. If one influencer means you, just be well assured that the influencer will drag your name until your reputation is damaged.
The high rate of people wasting their time and resources on this platform is really alarming, more especially to people that are addicted to it. They are ready to spend the whole day scrolling short videos. There was a time I was so addicted to the platform that every moment you saw me, I was creating content, both at work and at home. When I realised that this app was really dealing with me, I had to let go of the app for my own good. Deleting the app was the best decision I have ever made.
Another reason I will ban this platform is that they don’t filter their words; they are so raw, and they make people believe that life is so easy. I am so concerned about the younger ones because they are easily deceived. If it is within my power, I will ban the platform because of the danger it has for its users. Many people have lost their lives due to criticism from the app, and it keeps prompting corruption.

I agree with you on TikTok App. Its crazy 😝 with its negative impact especially on the youths and teenagers.
Although we believe everything that has advantages equally will have disadvantages. We don’t know which to accept when it comes to TikTok.

Why do I keep seeing people choosing tiktok as the app to ban🤣🤣🤣. I do kinda get why tiktok is the scapegoat. That app is a menace, I don't even think anything good can come out of it. That place is a dark hole that I wish nobody should ever fall into because it gets deeper and deeper

I believe the issue with Tiktok is lack of censorship of content, a lot of content created by some users shouldn't be allowed to get to the public but there is a lot of competition among social media platforms and this developers don't care about the kind of content people get exposed to as long they get users to keep using their apps
