Using Artificial intelligence (AI) to fight wars instead of soldiers might sound good at first, and many people would support it because it will save the lives of many men and women who risk everything on the battlefield. Wives will no longer have to fear losing their husbands, mothers will no longer be afraid of losing their sons, and children will not become fatherless just because their fathers went to make peace for the nations. But if you look at it deeply, it might still bring problems later in the future; after all, nothing lasts forever.

One advantage of using robots in war is the safety it brings. We all know machines do not feel pain, fear, or exhaustion. They can be easily sent to dangerous areas without worrying about injuries or death. AI is very fast; it analyzes situations quickly and follows instructions without hesitation. In this way, wars might become shorter and less⁰ deadly for humans directly getting involved.
However, the issue will start when we remember that robots do not think or feel like humans. A human soldier can understand emotions, empathy, and even make a judgmental call in difficult situations. A robot only follows what it has been programmed for. If something goes wrong, it can't make any decisions on its own; it cannot stop to think if its action is wrong or right. This makes it more dangerous, especially when innocent people can be harmed. If, perchance, a robot makes a costly mistake, who could take the blame? Nobody will take it.
One concern I have is that war may become easy to start; leaders always think it true before going to war because they know people will suffer and there will be plenty of death. But if it's a robot that is going to fight, that fear will reduce, and leaders will no longer think it through again before starting a war because their citizens won't directly be affected anymore. This could lead to frequent wars that might go on for a long time, like Russia and Ukraine war, because machines don't get tired or refuse to fight.
What of the risk of powerful countries competing to build the smartest and deadliest AI weapons? Like China, USA and Russia. The funny thing is that once one country starts, another will surely catch up. This kind of thing could push dangerous technology into the world, not just the world, even into the hands of criminals or terrorists. Imagine boko Haram getting this kind of weapon. There are weapons that are challenging to build; AI systems can be copied, hacked, and misused, making it difficult to control.

Another issue is how distant people may become from the reality of war. If humans fight, the pain, loss, and suffering are visible. It's these realities that remind us how terrible war is. It is this pain that made us choose peace instead of war. If machines start fighting, war may start to feel like video games, targets, and strategies instead of human lives. Human will become less concerned about peace but become comfortable with wars. At the end, robots and AI in war might save soldiers's lives, but they also create a future filled with constant conflict, little accountability, and less value for human life!
