Before COVID, content creation was like a special niche for a particular set of people, or probably not everyone was exposed to that part of the internet.

Fast forward. With COVID, the whole world was brought to a standstill, and people had to turn to the only thing that could keep them busy and connected to other people and parts of the world at the same time.

And the world of internet marketing and other internet-related businesses generated a lot of revenue for people who had the information and knew what to do in those times.

Fast forward to now peonow:ple now see the gold mine on the internet, especially as it relates to content creation, and while some people are busy improving themselves in order to put out value out there, some others just want to do anything they think and put it out there.

We cannot overemphasize the fact that content creation has made a lot of millionaires over the years, and it is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world today.

Content creation is now a lucrative business, for which a lot of people now take courses, and even some universities now offer content creation as a course on its own.

The money in this industry has made many youths lazy because all they want to do now is just create content. The interesting thing is no matter the type of content you're creating, there is an audience.

I recently saw on a friend's status that in China, for you to do any form of content creation in whatever field you choose now, you must have an education in that field, and this is to allow for authenticity and originality.

Monetization of content isn't the problem here; the problem is the content that people are putting out. It needs to be regulated. I was at a meeting recently where one of the facilitators said that for some of the content creators in my country, because of the kind of content they create, they can never get visas to the Western world.

The reason is not far-fetched because most of these content creators are only thinking of the now and not the future because, whether you like it or not, the internet doesn't forget, so if you create content today that is morally decayed, then tomorrow when you want to do something else, the reputation you have created before will begin to haunt you.

Today a lot of young people want to dance on TikTok and jump on the next Instagram challenge, forgetting to go for actual work because of the fame and benefits they stand to get from that content.

Truth is anyone can decide to be a content creator, but when content creation is served with value, then it becomes worthy of monetization.

The reason is that while some others are just out there because of the money, there are some other persons who actually put in the work in order to create value, and so that work is worth monitoring.

But whether or not content is worthy of monetization depends on the viewer who is gaining value from it because, as they say, one man's food might be another man's poison.

Thanks for stopping by.

Absolutely right. Only valuable contents ought to be rewarded but it seems there is no way to stop the automated reward system for contents on many of these social media platforms.
