Something important I've realised and always said is that the world we have today is a very advantageous one with lots of privileges, opportunities and betterment than in times past or what people of earlier generations or eras had and enjoyed. But what we have today isn't without its negative perks. Things were less problematic than we have and see today, with several overwhelming concerns. There's much of this affecting us all today.
In diverse ways and several considerations, we have these concerns. In recent times, one that seems prevalent is people coming across as offensive. This could be by virtue of the things people say or do. Yes, people can get offensive and we do a lot, but not always how it seems to be portrayed in the modern world. And we've heard of people getting cancelled because of some opinions or views that they had and shared.

I say again that people can be annoying and intentionally offensive. That of course should be properly addressed and dealt with. But it's not always the case. Some people today hate it when others share ideologies, perspectives and views that differ from theirs. And from what I've seen, some of these views are the ones grounded in truth, reality and morality. So to them, you're coming across as offensive even when you aren't, but voicing facts and reality.
People are no longer free to express themselves as they fear coming across as offensive which is mostly the case today when you try to voice out reality and truth. You might even get cancelled. This has discouraged people from wanting to communicate their disagreements on matters and express their opinions. You would have to think through things first before saying them, even when they're basic and logical things. It's one of the perils of our time.
Needful to also say is that, not everything should just be said, even as much as one would want to air their opinions. It's not a case of limiting a person, but about having wisdom to know when to talk or not. Also, some people can be genuinely offensive. They're not just coming across as offensive, they're actually that. They tend to come out with that clear motive and you could read it from their actions and body language, even beyond their words.
What we say and how we say it also matters. This is why I won't come out to say that viewing people as being offensive shouldn't be totally so. No, people can and have been offensive. We have to test it by truth, reality and how they actually come across. That's why the likes of racist comments and hate comments aren't welcome. Perhaps, there was a time when such wasn't as serious a concern as it probably is today, though existent and problematic.
People's voices shouldn't be taken away from them, but they shouldn't be intentionally and purposely hurting others also, especially when it's obviously geared towards that purpose. Some of the issues we have with the modern world is people are no longer willing to have peaceful and meaningful discussions regarding matters they don't agree with. So, the best is to tag people as being offensive, which can be, or not in most cases.

Thought-provoking post! I think listening with an open mind is just as important as speaking our minds.
And respectful conversations help everyone grow. 🤗
People vary bro, I can't agree less. Whereas some deliberately say things to offend, others say it harmlessly. In the end, one just have to be careful with their words but keeping quiet inorder not to offend people is never an option, though there is a place for that too.
