It's no news that most children these days are raised with the idea that they are meant to take care of their parents when they're old, regardless of their financial capabilities.

What are your thoughts on this?

Parents have raised and cared for us as their children for many years, so it may seem fair that children return the favor in their old age.

I personally believe that it's a way to reciprocate the care and investment parents have made in raising us as their children.

Parents deserving care is something that should be done without anyone telling or reminding us as true children of our parents.

It's normal and understandable for parents to look forward to getting support from their children in old age, especially if they sacrificed a lot to raise and provide for them.

So in my opinion,I really don't see anything bad for parents to expect care from their children that they sacrificed a lot in raising and seeing that they become great in life.

Do you think it's fair for the young ones to be saddled with such responsibilities?

It's not always fair to burden children with the responsibility of caring for their parents, especially if they are struggling financially or have their own families to support.

It's a good thing for parents to plan for their old age so that they don't depend too much on their children for care.

Because it can sometimes be a heavy burden for young people to take on the task of doing everything for them.

Because they obviously also all have their own lives to live aside from just caring for and providing for their parents.

So I believe that there are also limits to the care that they should expect from them. especially if they are not financially strong enough to care for them yet.

Because we all know how things are nowadays. So putting too much pressure on them and demanding excessively wouldn't be fair to the children.

What are you doing in preparation for your own old age?

I personally believe that as one grows, one should always try to secure the future more and avoid using all 10 hands to eat.

As for my own preparations for old age, I believe in saving and investing for retirement, purchasing long-term care insurance, and making sure that I have a support system in place for later years where I will no longer be working anymore.

So I sure will invest in things that will keep multiplying the funds I've already left with me. I.e., real estate, etc.

Thank you for taking the time to go through my content, and I hope you've had lots of amazing moments in this community and have learned lots of lessons from it's weekly prompt.

It is a natural responsibilty of we children to always care for our parents even before they get old.

I personally believe that it's a way to reciprocate the care and investment parents have made in raising us as their children.

Yeah, it's a good thing to get return on investment. Every parent that really invested their all to raise a child ought to eat the fruit of their labour. Without unneccesary pressure, every child should do more to the parents.

I think there's a need for understanding between the child and parent, the child shouldn't be bothered too much if he or she is still struggling to put their life together, though it's important that such child still put in their best to support their parent.
