Since the conception of Artificial Intelligence popularly called AI, there have been rumors that AI would take over all jobs thereby increasing unemployment rate for humans. Although I doubt this was initially the case as I have seen some AI writing applications paraphrasing a text all wrong and losing all the meaning. Most jobs and tasks can totally be replaced by AI, but there are traits that this AI does not have. Before I go any further I'd like to explain what AI means.
Artificial Intelligence is simply the simulation of human intelligence process by machines. Programmes are coded with a function in mind and fed to machines to perform a task. All AI applications and machines are fed algorithms from which they extract information to perform a task.
I once watched a movie titled The 100 where a scientist and programmer developed an AI to save the world and protect humanity from lack of resources, the AI identified the problem to be over population but the AI went out of hand and control, it had no human emotions and was only concerned in fulfilling its task which was protect humanity from over population and it did not care by what means it did this. The AI corrupted the machines and enacted its solution which was releasing nuclear weapons to destroy the earth and kill humans.
This same scientist wrote another programme but this time around she fed the code into a device that could attach to a human and as such enhance reasoning to proffer solutions to human problems, here now, it is how the holder of this device thinks that would cause a problem.
This brings me to my point “feelings”, AI does not have human emotions they can only mimic it.
So the skill I have that I think the now AI can’t take from me now is writing stories. As humans when we write we use words that evoke feelings can be happiness, sadness, fear or anxiety. If AI cant get emotions, how can they write any story to make anyone feel anything at all.
Dear story writers, yall are safe, there would always be a need to escape reality for a while and get sucked into a beautiful story with mysterious characters.
We evolve, grow and adapt and most of all we understand human emotions, if i was a therapist, i probably won't worry much.
AI can write code, for example chapGPT but there would still be need for developers to go through the code and fix some bugs.
I am a cybersecurity analyst. As technology evolves, making life better and easier, there are those who are known as threat actors that will try to infiltrate this tech, to steal information or commit crime. So even if AI takes over the labor market, there would still be a need for a human cyber analyst to observe and secure systems. I know you're probably thinking the AI can be programmed to watch out for these threat actors but that's the thing the threat actors are also humans and as such evolve and change techniques and tactics.
This was one interesting contest and I am happy I could participate.
This is a very good one. Writing has to be done in a way that it will appeal to emotions and this is one of the reasons why it is always very easy to identify when a content is auto generated by an AI.
It's weird that some writers are beginning to become over-dependent on the likes of ChatGPT.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Yea, it should most likely be used to enhance and not to replace human creativity all together.
Thanks for stopping by.
a relevant read to take into importance as personally know people who cant see the risks of relying on AI too much, a creation with no ounce of emotion is a delicate balance of losing real organic creativity. thanks for sharing your enlightening article on this! 😊
