A few days ago, my friend and I were interacting and out of curiosity, I asked, “how are we sure that the majority of the things that are written in books that we read and believed are true?”
I am a Christian, I used to hear pastors talk about some encounters they had and they often leave me perplexed. Yes, I have read about miracles in the Bible and to be honest, I believe them.
But in our day, the story is something different. Some preachers will tell you that they once walked in the air, they raised the dead and did all kinds of amazing things but going to check, sometimes it is just as if they said those things to stir up people's belief.
I am someone who believes that everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. I wasn't there when the event occurred, so I can't tell whether the story was accurate or not.
Things like this have been a matter of concern to me and to be honest, they often leave me in doubt.
How sure are we that those who gave account of the mighty histories we heard didn't add up something or take something out of it just to make the story fit?
I know of times I was asked to give an account of events and frankly, I added up little, to spice it up. Sometimes, it's like if you don't top it up or take something out, the story doesn't balance. If I am alone in this, It is fine, I understand, LOL.
But it's life. Sometimes, we see things that are not true before our eyes but because they were legends, because we believe that those who said it are men and women of integrity, we throw our beliefs at them helplessly.
I love and believe in science, my reason is because there is always evidence left to prove everything that was once said.
Science is not a thing of guess or luck, you must provide tangible evidence for everything. If you say something is black, you must prove it, and others have to verify it too.
Nevertheless, there is a theory or should I call it belief in sciences that I really don't agree with.
The theory of evolution by natural selection by Charles Darwin, today it is widely said that humans evolved from apes.
Seriously, I have been thinking about this for a long period of time and it has not still made any sense to me.
I am not so good at science but unless I am getting the whole gist wrong, from common sense, how are there still apes today? All of them should have evolved to humans by now.
And if that evolution thing is true, then we should be having two species of humans, the human ape and the complete human.
Human apes from evolution and complete humans from birth. I am not saying this theory is wrong, but I am seriously finding it difficult to accept it and I stand to be corrected or clarified on this matter.
Humans were created as humans, apes as apes, each having their family. No animal under normal conditions can evolve into another animal that is entirely different from it. It doesn't make sense.
Where does the ape tail go after evolution? If that was true, we would have heard that our ancestors once possessed tails like avatar, LOL. But no, nothing like that was ever recorded.
I totally agree with this prompt that sometimes, those who tell stories, sometimes say it to their favour.
I agree that there are people of integrity, people who fear God who will say the truth in all circumstances but trust me they are rare and we don't even know how to dictate such.
Will There Be A Way to Correct this?
Seriously, this depends on individuals, some people will still believe what they heard even if you bring evidence because they believed the person who told them. In the end, everyone will just believe what they believed.
The best we can do is filter everything we hear out there, take the ones that can motivate us and work with it but totally relying on the stories of people sometimes can be risky.

It isn't like that. evolution isn't about transformation. There are fossils that proves that animals existed before us and don't exist anymore. We didn't came from the current chimps and gorillas, we have the a similar ancestrality, apes that doesn't exist anymore. By the way we are Apes =) Like the humans that don't exist anymore such as Neanderthals or Homo erectus. By the way you should be proud that humans started in Africa and migrated to other continents!
By the way chimps and gorillas don't have tails as well =)
Wow, I can only wow to this, so much clarity, I saw something about neanderthals somewhere but I didn't really give it my time. This is deep, and I really appreciate the clarity...
For sure there are nice museums in Nigeria you can visit there!
There are, just that we don't have any close to where I live. But someday, I will visit those places by God's grace
Those tales are just there for us to believe. Though at times there some truth in them and some are just there to pass a message across. While most of them are just cooked up to create fear. But still we have our choices to make either to believe or not.
You are right about this, it is totally up to you us to make the choice whether to believe it or not.
