Tackling Stress

in Hive Learners23 days ago

There is this popular saying "Nothing is easy." If you check around there is no work that is not stressful, even if it's just sitting in the office and doing nothing, it is not easy.

There was a time when I thought working from home wasn't stressful, so I quit teaching and decided to commit to web3 alone.

That was when I realized that none is easy, sitting in the room from morning till night with my eyes glued to my phone's screen, sometimes even forgetting to eat.

The body becomes sore, back aches, the brain gets hot and sometimes I feel like just quitting and going for a break for a very long time.

Stress is part of life, there is nothing in life that doesn't involve stress although stress is in levels, there are jobs that are more stressful than others.

Is it possible to avoid stress?

My answer to this is no. Our bodies are built to get tired, it doesn't matter the kind of work whether it is hard or easy.

If the body is involved, getting stressed is inevitable, sometimes even being idle gets the body stressed.

I have experienced that many times, you are home all through and you did nothing but lay down and watch movies but you were stressed, your body felt like you did a very heavy work.

So, avoiding stress is not possible, unless you have a way to take off your body and your mind.

But we can manage stress so that it doesn't weigh us down. They say there is a solution to every problem.

Personally, I do a couple of things when I am stressed and they include:

1 . Go for a little break: the body is not some piece of metal, work whether heavy or light makes it tired. In situations like that we don't need to keep pushing unless it is mandatory, we should take some time and rest.

If you are self-employed, you can either take a brief nap or go for a walk. I always go for walks, it calms my head and lightens my mood.

It's sad that there are jobs that don't give proper break, like all these hard jobs, you just work till all your strength is gone.

In cases like that, when you get home, don't go for pills, instead, take a warm bath, eat good food, and sleep. It works, I have tried it a couple of times.

2 . Plan your activities: don't try to do everything at the same time, you will weigh yourself down.

Plan your activities, start with the important ones, have breaks in between and keep going, this way, before you know it, you have done all your work, although you would still be stressed but you may not even feel the weight.

3 . Do your work with love: since you know stress can't be avoided, if you don't want it to bring you down, love what you do and love yourself.

When you do your work with love you will enjoy it and when you love yourself you will know your limits, instead of still going even when your body is giving your signals to stop, you will stop and take some time to cool off and regain yourself first.

Huhm, so true.
No work is actually easy, including all those "work from home.."

And instead of trying to avoid the unavoidable, it's just best to find a balance and a means of managing it. Because it(stress) will always be there.

Those are helpful tips you mentioned too.

Thanks for sharing.
