I’m both excited and a little nervous to share my very first post here on Hive, through Ecency. My username is epochquill, and I thought I’d start by telling you a bit about the name and what I hope to bring to this space.
Why EpochQuill?
For me, the word epoch speaks of great stretches of time—eras full of transformation, discoveries, and forgotten voices. And the quill, though simple, has always been a humble tool to preserve those voices across centuries. Together, they capture the heart of what I want to do here: to write about moments and people who shaped the world but rarely make it into the spotlight.
I’ve always been fascinated by the footnotes of history and the dusty corners of science. The lab notebooks that never got published, the inventors overshadowed by their louder peers, the stories of thinkers who sparked change but faded into obscurity—these are the tales that make me curious. I want to unearth them, dust them off, and share them with anyone who’s willing to read along.
What can you expect from this blog?
- Deep dives into overlooked moments in history and science.
- Human stories about unsung heroes whose ideas or courage nudged the world forward.
- Narrative explorations that feel more like a story by the campfire than a lecture in a classroom.
In fact, I’m already preparing my first feature: the story of a glamorous Hollywood actress from the 1940s who secretly pioneered the technology that would one day make Wi-Fi possible.
I don’t see this as a one-way journey. My hope is to spark conversations, to learn from your perspectives, and to let these stories grow richer through community exchange.
