Leaving Planet Earth
Going to a different planet, which might be my original home, would feel strange at first. Before I embark on this journey, I will create a list of essentials for the survival of the human race.
Let’s start with the necessities of life: food, clothing, and shelter. If I were to move to another planet, I would ensure that these essentials are prepared in advance.
For food, I would make sure to learn how to cook a variety of dishes, even though I’m not particularly fond of cooking. This would involve familiarizing myself with different cuisines, as I would be unsure of the ingredients available for preparing meals on my home planet. My culinary knowledge would need to be extensive.
Regarding clothing, I would learn how to weave or sew, as well as understand the types of materials necessary for making clothes. Just like on Earth, different weather conditions may exist on the new planet, so I have to be fully prepared for anything.
When it comes to shelter, this would require significant manpower and intellectual resources. I would not only need to learn how to build basic shelters, but I would also need the physical strength to construct them and possess fundamental construction skills.
Once I have secured these three necessities, the next crucial elements to acquire would be power and energy. Mastering these two areas is vital, as they could lead to groundbreaking achievements and help avoid past mistakes. With power and energy, it would become much easier to develop communication devices, transportation, and other technologies, which I could then teach to others.
Finally, the last item on my list is acquiring medical, hospital , and health knowledge. As we all know, health is wealth. I need to ensure that I can provide basic medical assistance to myself and others. Once I have this knowledge, I will consider relocating to my new planet.
However, if I remove these considerations from my question and ask myself what else Earth has to offer, it would be the people. Nature and nurture both contribute to who we are. The people around us have, in one way or another, shaped our identities because we are fundamentally influenced by the company we keep. Every piece of good or bad advice from those around us has played a role in molding who we are today.
Relocating to my planet would only feel complete if the people I know could also relocate. I would also ensure that we do not repeat the same mistakes there. Many human errors, such as traffic congestion (Lagos traffic would show you shege pro-max), overcrowding, the depletion of the ozone layer, hunger and famine, drought, wars, and the use of nuclear weapons, need to be addressed so we can learn and improve.
On the other hand, if the people I know decide to stay, I could not relocate, as the loneliness and depression would overwhelm me. Although we are accustomed to our routines, we take comfort in returning home to our loved ones, and that connection truly matters.
