One of the greatest fear of man is the fear of the unknown. Likewise, it takes a courageous person to stay through what he or she believes is the best for him or her and stay through even when it seems as novel or a deviation from the norm. It is believed that we cannot keep on doing things the same way and expect a different result. As a young boy who came from a literate and educated background, what was obtainable back then was to be educated and graduated to seek a government job even as this was the trend back then.
The government job was easier to get back then and no need of having a serious connection as it was now in my country. Therefore, the mentality of civil/public service/sector was how i was raised with. After i graduated from school and observed the mandatory one year of national service as stipulated under the law in my country, the government job isn't forthcoming as expected by my parents whose trusts in people they've in sort connected with have failed. Infact, immediately after my national service, i picked up an employment in a private healthcare outlet and as well picked up a recruitment form from a popular government tertiary health facility aswell
It was after one year they called us for an interview and after about two years from then till now, no employment given despite performing well in the interview. After careful consideration, i chose to follow a different path of been an employer of labour and having my own establishment because seeking government job to me is a waste of time and doesn't what the effort even as time is going. So i have to jettison my parents and followed what i believed it's the best for me right now and a pathway to a future i desire. I would like to say that my family wasn't business oriented and hence, I'm the first to navigate this route and I'm grateful i did.
I'm glad to say that my own personal healthcare outfit (Pharmacy) started this year in February and I'm grateful to God for the courage, strength and enablement to start even when discouragement came, i stayed through. By my experience, i can say that it is a hard thing to convince a family, relative or close pearls especially when they are not seeing what you are seeing but want you to follow the status quo. I can only counsel that you follow your heart and do what you feel is right because when the results show up, they will all change their mind to accept that you are indeed right if they will be sincere enough. Challenges may come but the assurance of victory and light at the end of the tunnel ia guaranted.
In all, there is no need to fight anyone or argue with anyone, instead, forawhile one can just leave them temporarily and when the due time come with evidences and proofs, these will speak for itself. So go after what you want if you are so sure of them but don't dishonour your parents or guardian for they care truly for you even though they may be wrong sometimes. New paths are real and possible, it only takes courage and strength to navigate. Financial independence and liberation is also feasible outside the status quo.
