Hello friends.
for those of you that are yet to fully know the use of the Hive security keys you downloaded during sign up. Here I will be teaching you everything you have to know about this keys and how to use them and as well keeping them safe.
This keys are use to carry out different actions on Hive like to sign in, make post and comment, authorize transactions and many more function. But before we go in full detail let us see how to access them first, here I will using peakd on my mobile.
When you sign into your account, click on your picture icon as shown in the image below.
Then locate your wallet
Then in your wallet page click on the three dot shown in the image below
Scroll down you will see the keys and permissions option tap it
after then you will taken to account keys page, you will also see the functions of each keys, scroll down you will see the option to reveal all keys
Tap it, which will take you to the final page where you will input your master password and confirm you will see your keys
Since you have now known how to reveal your keys, lets now know the function of these keys.
The Master/Owner Key: This key is use to recover your account and also change other keys.
The Posting Key: This key is used to make posts, comment, upvote and downvote and reblog.
The Active Key: This key is use to authorize transactions such as transfers and exchange of tokens.
The Memo Key: This key is use for encrypting and decrypting private message sent through blockchain.
Now is the time to knows the ways you can keep this keys safe, for it to be accessed only by you, this are my suggestions,
- Backing them up. you can use google drive.
- You can just print and keep it together with your important document.
- finally by writing them down, this can bed time consuming and stressful but it is worth it.
Please don't share this keys to any one or website, do not click on random links i.e. Phishing links those are hackers trying to access your account.
