I'm excited to share my second post on this beautiful platform again. It's been an amazing time reading from other authors. The focus for this edition is on the vigilante. This suggests the issue of insecurity and other challenges. Vigilante refers to group of people who help locally to curb the rate of insecurity. Vigilante is a special group that protects community and seek for justice for everyone in a particular environment.
This kind group of people are established as a result of failure from the government. In other for community to enjoy themselves and maintain certain level of peace and tranquility vigilante becomes necessity. In Nigeria, vigilante emerged as a result of failure from the law enforcement agencies and other big leaders. They could not address the crime that goes on in the environment today. The rate of insecurity in my country is alarming and it appears as if all efforts proved abortive hence a new dimension of maintaining law and order. Most sectors that ought to be a force to combat the issue of crime has been politicized and people's lives have been traded for selfish gains.
If I were to be wealthy and have resources, I'll use the vigilante to fight the issue of crime in my environment. When you are saved, you can save others. The relevant authorities have been corrupted and don't have any concern again for humanity. Imagine the present security outfit in my area where most people are just left in the cold hands of self defense. You can't have assurance of even going to your farm land or house any longer. This year one of my friends farmed in a particular location and some unknown people came and invaded the farm, scattered everything such that he couldn't harvest a grain of coin. The big question is where are the relevant authorities that supposed to mount the security environment of the area? What proactive measure has the government taken to curtail this kind of menace? There are many other challenges experienced by people in similar situations but yet nothing has been done to guarantee their freedom and liberty.
Fortifying a vigilante is a good effort in the right direction to cushion the effects of security of life and property. In my area since last year the community head has constitutes a special group of people whose responsibility is for security. The complaint of thieves and robbery activities is quite alarming hence the need to build up our own security measures to put an end to this. Presently we have a group called vigilante whose responsibility is to safe guard people and their properties. We normally pay a token to appreciate their sacrifices and efforts.
We can't longer continue to live under costly assumptions again. Community policing is good because the vigilante knows the terrain very well hence they would be able to Mount strategically areas where it needs to be secured. I doubt whether the numbers of security personnel we have would be able to guard the billions of citizens we have. I was surprised to hear some crimes that goes on in our environment today. The incomplete buildings that were installed with iron rods were cut down and stolen. The way out is to have a vigilante.

Having the money and doing this is actually a good thing and seriously a lot of the community peeps will benefit from this too.
Community policing is a good idea, but my fear is things going wrong even with the community policing.
