From my perspective, compulsory health check-ups can be a double-edged sword. Tell me how you would feel if you know that you have to go to the hospital every two weeks or month for checkup and if you don’t, there would be a penalty for it. Now, there are two ways to look at this.
Firstly, it would be nice to know your health status and before such law can be passed, then there must be countless hospitals because of the population of the people but on the other hand, if I have something more important to do than visit the hospital, will I be seeing police at my door step over my own health. I believe that’s a bridge on the human right.
On one hand, compulsory health checkup can provide numerous benefits such as early detection of potential health issues, prevention of diseases, and overall improvement in health awareness. You also agree right?
By undergoing regular check-ups, individuals can stay on top of their health and address any concerns before they escalate into more serious conditions. This approach will keep everyone proactive and some certain death can be avoided.
Like I said in the beginning, whatever have an advantage will also have its own disadvantage, many people may feel that their right to live freely is being trampled upon by being required to undergo these check-ups. Also, will this healthcare be available all over the country, both in the urban and rural areas. What if someone has to travel for a business trip to another country and will spend months, will they have to travel back every month for their health checkup? These are some important questions we should ask ourselves.
let's talk about the cost of doing this checkup, we all know how much some medical test could cost right? If a compulsory checkup bill is passed, is the government saying all test would be free and what about the treatment cost just in case someone is found with some dangerous diseases.
Also if the test are not free because not all governmental institutions are free, meaning sometimes a certain amount of money is meant to be paid, depending on the kind of checkup, will the payment be different or will it be the same for all check up? If it's not free, what do they want people who can't earn more than enough to feed their family. The compulsory checkup will be a burden to people and I believe it is not a wise decision.
Ultimately, the decision of whether compulsory health check-ups are right or not depends on various factors, including individual beliefs, access to healthcare, and overall health status.
If a person falls sick everytime and doesn't have a good health, then I believe a compulsory health checkup should be required for such person. Some people can be so lazy even when it comes to their own health.
It's important to weigh the benefits and disadvantages carefully and consider how mandatory check-ups may impact different individuals and communities. If this is not done appropriately, then the system that is meant to be built on mandatory checkup will fail.
