I have quite a few activities I enjoy doing during my free time that can be referred to as hobbies, I developed many of them at a younger age and still do them today. My hobbies are part of me and a day won't pass without me doing two particular ones, I refer to them as the masters of my hobbies and I wouldn't rate one over the other because despite being just hobbies, they are quite valuable to me.
They have beautiful memories attached to them and have played significant roles in my life at a particular point. A lot of people know me for these hobbies online and offline, and I just love doing them.
Cooking is one of my hobbies and it has made me famous to an extent. I remember some years ago when some women in the face me I slap you apartment I was living in started quarrelling with their husbands because they didn't assist them with chores, their husbands blamed me for spending time in the kitchen with women. It is one of the things I do to relieve stress, clear my head and even think. People find it hard to believe how I mentally connect to my kitchen, I don't know how too but it happens.
Over the weekend, I wasn't feeling very good and my siblings wouldn't stop teasing me when they saw me on Saturday morning cooking. I think my love for food made cooking my hobby and at some point in my life, I have monetized it. I don't need to start thinking if my hobby can be monetized because at different times in life, my hobbies have paid my bills and kept me alive.
Back in 2013, I sold snacks every morning at my mom's shop for over a year. It was a quick source of money for me and very lucrative if you find the perfect market for it. I wake up as early as five in the morning to mix flour so it can swell before seven when the frying starts. It was a small-scale thing and it could be bigger but back then I had a bigger dream than selling snacks.
There was a time I also made soup every weekend for a particular woman, rumour has it that she can't cook but I wasn't after that because I got paid every weekend back then. After Polytechnic, getting a job was challenging and I had to fall back on cooking.
I met a caterer who took me in for small chops and the money I earned helped me survive then.
The best of them is sharing my cooking recipes of Hive and still making money from them, isn't that amazing?
Cooking can be monetized and it's a very profitable business, I look forward to owning a food brand in the future but that would be after taking some marketing and other training to help boost the skill and brand productivity. Anyone who has been in that line will understand why I said it is lucrative if it is done properly.
The world is at a stage where you don't need a shop to sell your things, there are lots of food vendors who take orders at home and also prepare the food at home. It can be challenging from the beginning which is normal for every new business but with time, things will get better if we are giving our best.
Writing is another hobby you can't take away from me just like many members on the platform. Monetizing my writing hobby wasn't something I imagined ten years from now but it happened and I am grateful for that.
As a writer, one of my biggest achievements is to have people (not just friends and family) read my content. That didn't happen until I discovered Blockchain blogging where I got readers and even made money.
I started monetizing my stories by sharing them online and a lot can still be achieved with them Honestly, I am not very ambitious about writing but if one day an opportunity shows up, I wouldn't hesitate to jump on it. I am not a professional and it's just a hobby but with every content I share on Hive, I get better.
There are lots of creative writers and not everyone will publish a book but there are other ways to make money with writing. One of them is publishing quality content on Hive, you can work as a freelancer and many other ways.
Cooking and writing are two hobbies that I have improved on in recent years and doing them every day has helped me learn a lot of things. This is beyond just doing things because I need to, I love and enjoy doing every bit of these two things.

Cleaning does every of those things that cooking do to you, to me. I don't even know when I start tidying. It doesn't even make me weak but, I haven't done the job for a pay.
I've thought of how to be creative with that, but the ideas elude me. I stick to just doing it as something I love.
These little hobbies can be turned into high income stuff if we know how best to market them.

I clean a lot too, it's not a tedious thing. I do my chores myself so it's not stressful for me. The World has reached a stage where hobbies pay and we just have to tap into the opportunities.
You can make money through this hobby. It's easier when you have a team you work with,then all these new building projects , you go out and meet the owner, they usually look for cleaners before packing into the house..it's rampant here in Lagos. Cleaners are making it as well.
Never think like that. For every person in this world there is a chance to achieve something amazing. Just think how many people you might have touched with your stories here. Maybe one day, your books will be on the shelves with the great authors. Many of them nobody knew at the beginning, but as the centuries go by, people's opinions change, people look for new books, and maybe in the near future, someone will discover your stories.

They actually thought cooking was for women only and when their wives started liking what I was doing, they felt like their husbands should also help them with chores.

That's true, writing has paved the way for many and there are still lots of opportunities in it that we haven't tapped into and hopefully, as we keep doing it, we will figure out more opportunities.

As for the writing hobby i think I'm with you here. we all understand this one hehe cause we all here on hive. I also used to write on blogger before coming on Hive and it's truly great here as we can monetize easier than getting approval from google ads.

There is a lot to learn for that time and I just have to concentrate on that first. Hive has made writing very lucrative for many of us across the world and we just have to keep doing our best as we promote Hive to it's peak.

Do you know that a lot of working class here in Lagos do not have time to cook? They just order soup and stew online and have them preserved in their freezer. These are nice hobbies turning into side hustle
Yes, that's right. There are a lot of them who employ people to make their soups on weekends and they just heat them when hungry.

The future is undetermined yet, but a lot can still happen before sunset. Let's just keep improving ourselves in that we love and someday, the opportunity to be successful at it will definitely pop up and if it doesn't, we create one.
Seems we have identical hobby's, cooking and writing. Sometimes I wish I could go into them full time but then I get held back by so many other things.
There are so many things that must be put into consideration before one considers cooking and it's important that we take care of those things first. Glad to know we have things in common, that's awesome.

Cooking I love too, and people always have told me being a chef and having a restaurant was my calling. But I would not have a menu as I never cook something the same way twice!

I can do both cooking and writing. In case of finance writing helping me but I never thought about cooking as a money generating things. But the possibility of generating profit from cooking is very much possible thing.
