Following the announcement by @kronias and carefully understanding the tutorial by @prayzz, these are informations I derived
INTRODUCTION TO SECURITY KEYS OF HIVE
Security is a very important aspect of all institutions, social media platforms, centralised and decentralized platforms. The need to find a secured method of storing and protect information is important. Hence we also have those security methods on Hive. It is know as the HIVE KEYS.
IMPORTANCE OF THE HIVE KEYS
The hive keys are combination of alphabet and numerics. The user is the one in possession of the keys and has the authority to use them when necessary but securing the keys is top priority.
HOW TO LOCATE SECURITY KEYS ON HIVE
I followed the following steps;
STEP ONE
I OPENED MY PROFILE AND TAPPED ON WALLET
STEP TWO
I PROCEEDED TO KEYS AND PERMISSION
STEP THREE
TO SEE THE KEYS, TAP ON REVEAL TO SEE THE KEYS AND THE FUNCTIONS
FUNCTIONS OF EACH KEYS
1. The most common key type is the Posting key, which is used for posting, voting, and commenting. Users can make write out posts & comments via their hive user profile, while upvoting and following other interesting Users, using the "Posting" Key/Password.
2.The second key type is the Active key, which is utilized for money/currency transfers. Except for updating the Owner Key, the Active Key can do practically everything the Owner Key can do with the account.
3. The most powerful key type is the Owner Key. This is the most crucial Permission key because it allows you complete authority over your hive account. With the flexibility to alter virtually every aspect of your account.
4.Memo Key: The memo key is the only key used for Private Messaging, and it's used to encrypt and decrypt private messages sent and received through your hive account. This key, which was once used to read/write memos, is now mostly worthless and can be disregarded.
MEASURES OF PROTECTION
I deduced the following methods to help protect my keys
1. SECRECY- I will ensure that I don't hand over my keys to anyone: My keys are personal and will not be shared; it explains why the keys are called Private keys
2. AVOID ANY LINKS: Protecting my keys would check require verifying the links I tap on and also put my keys in. My keys are required for logging and carrying out transactions, other than that it will stay private.
3. OTHER MEANS OF STORAGE: I have written my hive keys down on an non-electronic medium which only myself have access for back up incase the electronic medium fails. I have also used Google drive and mail archiving to store my keys.
