One comic character that always amazed me was Batman. He is unique in what he does. Like many people who make jokes say, his only power is having money. For sure, he works out a lot, but his powers can all be reached if you have money. A millionaire in a city full of criminals and corrupt police. That is how Batman started to act as a vigilante in Gotham. The Batman mask is one of the most popular among kids when choosing a superhero. The vigilante that invests so much in high technology to fight crime is indeed important in human aspirations. But is that worth? If we have so much money spend time fighting the crime?
Usually, a person like Bruce Wayne is portrayed in real life. Probably, I am a bit like him. Of course that my bank account doesn't get close to what he has. But Bruce Wayne's ideal is that society needs to be fixed in multiple ways; he also invests money in charity, for example. But when you are fighting crime, you are risking your life, and sometimes it is an unfair job that lacks recognition. How many times has the government wanted to fight Batman?
Another big problem is that some criminals get obsessed with the vigilante. Joker is an example that clearly continued to practice criminal activities just to draw the attention of the hero. So in the end, you think you are the solution, but in reality, you are creating more problems for the city. It isn't about only fiction. Here in Hive, it happens the same, downvoters acting as vigilantes since Hive is decentralized without a governing power, and we have our Jokers as well. I receive some replies from them sometimes, which are big spammy messages, but those who are the big downvoters receive more.
I think that the code of conduct of a vigilante like Batman is important. No killing in his case is something that I agree with. Punishments can still be decided by law authorities, even if they fail. For sure, if I was a vigilante, I was be more like him, and not like the Punisher, who doesn't care if he kills a criminal. With money in my power, I would try something for sure to at least keep my neighborhood safe, using technology in my favor. But of course, my main focus would be on charity programs to help people leave poverty.
It is interesting that we talk about a distant future if we became millionaires and the possibility on acting in our local community. But in reality, we can start doing this job here on Hive; we are in a society without any central command, so there is room for us to regulate what is going on in here. With our stake, we can promote the retention and building of new users who have less stake than us, but also punish those who are bad users. The money that goes to these bad users could be used by real and authentic members of our community. But in Real Life, for sure, for now, I can only help the community a bit with a small donation to charity. Anyone with minimal ethical principles will always look for a better society.

É claro que ele se exercita bastante, mas todos os seus poderes só podem ser alcançados com dinheiro. Um milionário em uma cidade cheia de criminosos e policiais corruptos. Foi assim que o Batman começou a agir como vigilante em Gotham. A máscara do Batman é uma das mais populares entre as crianças na hora de escolher um super-herói. O vigilante que investe tanto em alta tecnologia para combater o crime é, de fato, importante para as aspirações humanas. Mas será que vale a pena? Se temos tanto dinheiro, por que não usá-lo para combater o crime?
Normalmente, uma pessoa como Bruce Wayne é retratada na vida real. Provavelmente, eu sou um pouco como ele. Claro que minha conta bancária não chega nem perto do que ele tem. Mas o ideal de Bruce Wayne é que a sociedade precisa ser consertada de várias maneiras; ele também investe dinheiro em caridade, por exemplo. Mas quando você está combatendo o crime, você está arriscando sua vida e, às vezes, é um trabalho injusto e sem reconhecimento. Quantas vezes o governo quis lutar contra o Batman?
Outro grande problema é que alguns criminosos ficam obcecados pelo vigilante. O Coringa é um exemplo que claramente continuou praticando atividades criminosas apenas para chamar a atenção do herói. Então, no final, você pensa que é a solução, mas, na realidade, está criando mais problemas para a cidade. Não se trata apenas de ficção. Aqui no Hive, acontece a mesma coisa: quem dá downvote age como vigilante, já que o Hive é descentralizado e não tem um poder governante. E nós também temos nossos Coringas. Às vezes, recebo algumas respostas deles, que são mensagens enormes de spam, mas quem dá downvote com mais frequência recebe ainda mais.
Acho que o código de conduta de um vigilante como o Batman é importante. Concordo com a proibição de matar, no caso dele. As punições ainda podem ser decididas pelas autoridades, mesmo que falhem. Com certeza, se eu fosse um vigilante, seria mais parecido com ele e não com o Justiceiro, que não se importa se mata um criminoso. Se eu tivesse dinheiro, com certeza tentaria algo para pelo menos manter meu bairro seguro, usando a tecnologia a meu favor. Mas, claro, meu foco principal seria em programas de caridade para ajudar as pessoas a saírem da pobreza.
É interessante que falemos sobre um futuro distante, caso nos tornemos milionários e tenhamos a possibilidade de agir em nossa comunidade local. Mas, na realidade, podemos começar a fazer esse trabalho aqui na Hive; vivemos em uma sociedade sem comando central, então temos espaço para regular o que acontece aqui. Com a nossa participação, podemos promover a retenção e a conquista de novos usuários que têm menos participação do que nós, mas também punir aqueles que são maus usuários. O dinheiro que vai para esses maus usuários poderia ser usado por membros reais e autênticos da nossa comunidade. Mas na vida real, com certeza, por enquanto, só posso ajudar um pouco a comunidade com uma pequena doação para caridade. Qualquer pessoa com princípios éticos mínimos sempre buscará uma sociedade melhor.

Batman é uma ótima referência. E concordo sobre sermos vigilantes no Hive, pois assim cuidamos dos novos usuários e ficaríamos atentos a barrar os abusadores.
Assim como na sociedade, sempre existirá pessoas boas, mas tbm infelizmente existem pessoas más.

Unlike the Batman story, the thing about being a vigilante and getting the needed support is that people won’t really rate you if you are not taking advantage of them one way or the other. I know it sounds twisted but like you said in a bid to solve a problem another error is created.
