When applying for jobs, I usually don't focus on one place, but I keep applying to places that aren't even my criteria. I did that not because of my desire to work there, but as an experience and also to know my limits in the world of work
I really commend you for your courage in applying for jobs that aren't even related to your field because it's really not easy learning and starting afresh even if you get employed.
Unemployment has been a major problem in most countries and this is exactly the same thing happening in my country. I am angry when I see people who aren't worth of getting employed securing the best position just because they are connected with high officials or politicians even though they don't have the required capability and eligibility to be in such position.

And, yeah i sometimes applying for jobs that aren't even related to me. I'm doing that because i want to gain more experience and event hough i get refuse, i'm not so sad because that wasn't jobs that i needed, i just want to gain more experience and knowing my limits.
