Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge: FabFour

in Hive Learnerslast month (edited)

Hello friends and splinterlands warriors? This is another splinterlands battle mage secrets weekly Challenge 🔥. Fabfour is a new rule in splinterlands. It was yesterday I knew that there was a rule called Fabfour.
I am also using this article as a #creative-sunday post. I believe it will be fun for #hivelearners to watch the battle.

Rulesets
Briar Patch; All monsters have the thorns ability.
This is a battle that is not easy to play because most of the monsters that were available were melee monsters. One of the toughest battles for me is giving Briar without magic or ranged monsters.
Only Doctor Blight was the only magic monster available for me in this battle. There was no other choice for magic monsters except Doctor Blight; and that was the reason I made sure to use Doctor Blight in a good position.
It took me more than a minute to choose my monsters because I was searching all the summoners available.
Fabfour: Up to four units can be used
I was not noticed a Fabfour rule in splinterlands; I was aware of fivealive rule. I didn't notice that there was a difference between Fabfour and fivealive rules until yesterday I searched for battle mage secrets weekly challenge for this week.
The moment I saw Fabfour, I went to search for a little league; maybe it was only the name that was changed; it wasn't the same.
Then, I went to check the comments section of the battle mage secrets Challenge; that was when I understood the meaning of Fabfour.
I started playing splinterlands immediately; after 40 minutes of playing, I was given Fabfour and I was paired up with someone in level 2.
I also discovered that when Fabfour is given in a battle. Only four monsters can be allowed instead of six Monsters.
Shade Of Gray: Only Neutral units may be used.
I was limited to using important monsters due to this rule. Therefore only neutral monsters were available to use in this battle.
Henceforth, shade of gray only allowed neutral monsters.
If you look at this article Top Neutral Cards in Splinterlands Battles In The First Quarter of 2024 those are the my top neutral cards I used often from the beginning of this year; two of those monsters were also included in this battle.

Summoner

Summoner: Delwyn Dragonscale
Level: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability: All friendly magic attack monsters have +1 magic attack.
The major reason I used Delwyn Dragonscale in this battle was the +1 magic attack given to all magic monsters. I did that so that Doctor Blight could have one additional melee attack since it was the only monster that could attack in this battle.

If not because of Delwyn Dragonscale, Doctor Blight wouldn't have gotten 2 magic attacks; an additional +1 magic attack was very significant in this battle.

Ulundin Overseer🐉

Splinter: Neutral unit ⚔️⚔️⚔️
Level: 1⭐
Speed: 1🚤
Ability: Flank
Health: 12❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Armor: 3 🪖🪖🪖🐉
Attack: None
Mana: 11
Ulundin Overseer health was the major reason I placed it in first position. Ulundin Overseer was the only monster with highest health that was available for selection.

I was very sure that before Ulundin Overseer is eliminated, more damage would have been done to opponent monsters.
Sincerely, it was exactly the way I planned the battle. Before Ulundin was eliminated, opponent monsters were destroyed in this battle.
More also, due to the ability of Ulundin Overseer, I knew that whatever a melee monster I used, it would be able to attack in the second position. That was the reason I used a monster with shield 🛡️🛡️ ability.

Grimbatdun Fighter🐉🦖
Splinter: Neutral unit ⚔️⚔️
Level: 1 ⭐
Speed: 2🚤🚤
Ability: Shield 🛡️🛡️
Health: 6 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Attack: Melee
Mana: 9
One of the reasons I used Grimbatdun Fighter in this battle was shield 🛡️🛡️ ability, I knew that the shield ability would reduce damage done by Briar Patch.
I also knew that the monster would attack in that position due to the flank ability of Ulundin Overseer.

Disintegrator

Splinter: Neutral unit ⚔️⚔️⚔️
Level: 2⭐⭐⭐
Speed: 1🚤
Ability: Demoralize
Health: 6 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Attack: Melee
Mana: 7
Disintegrator was used to reduce the melee monsters of opponent melee monsters. After I checked the monsters available for this battle, I realized that melee monsters were the monsters available.
Therefore, I knew that my opponent would used melee monsters in this battle; that was the reason I used Disintegrator.
It was a method to weak my opponent.

Doctor Blight

Splinter: Neutral unit ⚔️⚔️⚔️
Level: 2 ⭐⭐
Speed: 1🚤🚤
Ability: Affliction, Poison and Camouflage
Health: 4 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Attack: Magic
Mana: 4
Doctor Blight was the reason I used Delwyn Dragonscale.
Delwyn Dragonscale was the only monster available that could increase the magic attack of Doctor Blight.
I believed in the poisoning ability of Doctor Blight.
The reason I placed it in last Position was that before it reached the front, most of the opponent monsters would be destroyed.

Round One

It was Gargoya Devil 👿😈 that started the attack! It attacked Ulundin Overseer🐉 and damaged its armor.
Magi of Chaos was the second monster to attack; it attacked Ulundin Overseer damaging the health.
The first attack from my Grimbatdun Fighter missed it.
Doctor Blight was the second to the last monster that attacked in this battle because of his speed. But, it attacked Disintegrator and poisoned it.
Opponent Disintegrator was the last monster that attacked! It attacked the Ulundin Overseer and the Briar Patch damaged its armor.
By the end of round 1, only 2 health was left by the first monster of my opponent while my Ulundin Overseer was left with 10. You could see the reason I preferred to use Ulundin Overseer.

Round Two

As usual, it was Gargoya Devil 👿😈 that started attacking, it attacked and damaged the health of Ulundin Overseer since it's armor was destroyed.
Opponent's Disintegrator was eliminated; but, since the summoners he used had rebirth ability, Disintegrator was resurrected.

Third round

Until round 3 that opponent's Disintegrator was finally eliminated.
At this point, Ulundin Overseer was left with 2 health; the first attack in round four eliminated Ulundin Overseer.
Immediately Ulundin was eliminated in round four,
Grimbatdun Fighter was eliminated in round 5. At this point I wasn't sure of my victory because I was left with 2 monsters while my opponent was left with 3 monsters.
By the time Doctor Blight attacked Elven Defender, it damaged and poisoned her health.
By the time Elven Defender attacked, the Briar Patch damaged two health; and by the end of round six Elven Defender was eliminated.

Round six

By the time Doctor Blight attacked Gargoya Devil 👿😈, it was poisoned. Gargoya Devil could not reach the next round. It was eliminated by poison ability.
Magi of Chaos was poisoned by Doctor Blight.

In conclusion, I understand that the best moment was Doctor Blight. That was the reason I used it as the last monster.
The poison ability was the main reason I was able to win this battle. Doctor Blight poisoned all Opponent's monsters that made some of them to be destroyed at the end of each round.
Without Doctor Blight, I wouldn't have won the battle even if I had used monster with 14 health.
