Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge: Fire and Regret

in Hive Learnerslast month

Hello greetings to splinterlands warriors? Since the new update was initiated a few days ago, how are you doing? Well! In the previous season, I enjoyed playing splinterlands in the previous post because I got 29 season reward chests. I don't know how the reward of this season will be since the game has changed drastically. But, I'm hoping for good rewards at the end of the season.
Today, I'm going to talk about fire and regret ruleset. A novice chatted me up today, and asked me to teach him how to play splinterlands.
Due to my working schedule, there was no time to spend with him. After 5 minutes I told him a channel to practice.
Fire and regret is sweet to fight when you have the best Summoners and monsters to fight it.
Few days ago before I played the one I showed here this morning, there was a fire and regret battle I played against an opponent.
One additional rule was added which was ‘going the distance’. What my opponent did was that he used a summoner that gives close range ability to all friendly monsters.
When I saw the kind of monsters he used, I concluded that won the battle. As the battle was going on, I killed his first monster! The second monster because first. I killed the second monster, the third monster became the first monster.
At this point, four of my monsters were killed.
I saw a range monster that I was attacking in the first position; I knew the monster does not have close range ability. I discovered a close range ability was added to all range monsters that made them attack in the first position. That was how all my monsters were killed in that battle, I realized the importance of a summoner with close range ability.
The difference between going the distance and fire and regret is that a player can decide not to include range monsters if fire and regret is given. But a player cannot do without range monsters when going the distance is given. This is because only range monsters are available when the distance is given.
A player has a choice of different monsters such as magic, melee and range monsters when fire and regret is given.

I love to use Alric Stormbringer and Obsidian summoners whenever fire and regret is given. Both monsters give me opportunities to use magic monsters; Since range monsters receive attacks when attacking.
But in this battle, magic monsters that were available for selection were very few. I couldn't see my top Magic monsters to use, that was the reason I selected Helios Matriarch.

Click to watch what doesn't kill you, fire and regret and melee Mayhem

Rulesets What Doesn't Kill you: All monsters have the enrage ability.
This ability fascinated me to use three important monsters in this battle- Grund, Mycelic Infantry and Quora Towershead.
Fire and Regret: All monsters have the return fire ability.
The two range monsters I used were to increase the adjacent monsters. I was aware that if those range monsters attack, the attacker would return the fire by damaging their health. I knew both monsters won't last because of fire and regret ruleset.

Melee Mayhem: Melee attack Monsters can attack From any position.
One thing I like about this rule is that, melee monsters attack in any direction: melee monsters with opportunity ability attack monsters with smallest health, melee monsters with sneak ability attack from behind while other melee monsters attack in the front line.
The rule is very easy to play.

Summoner🐉
Summoner: Helios Matriarch
Level: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability: All friendly monsters have +1 speed
Conscript: Allow the use of one additional gladiator card in battle
Most of the magic monsters I wanted to use wasn't available; hence, it was not good for me to use Alric Stormbringer and Obsidian.
The conscript and swiftness was very crucial to me. I was able to use a gladius card which made the battle very easy for me. Without this gladius card I don't think I would have won the battle. My opponent used a summoner that reduced the speed of all my monsters.
Without Helios Matriarch, most of his monsters would have attacked before my monsters.
Flesh Golem 🐉
Splinter: Earth 🌎🌍
Level: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Speed: 4 🚤🚤🚤🚤
Ability: Healing
Health: 9❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Attack: melee
Mana: 6
I'm always wondering why this Flesh Golem was given 6 mana caps. The monster should have been given 7 or 8 mana caps. The Flesh Golem's health was the major reason I placed it at the front. It was a strategic plan to delay the opponent's monsters. I guessed the most strongest position in the battle of melee Mayhem is the front and back position. 80 percent of melee, magic and range monsters attack in the front line, and that was the reason I used Flesh Golem as bait. Flesh Golem was the second monster eliminated in my lineup.
Mycelic Infantry🐉🦖
Splinter: Earth 🌍🌎
Level: 1 ⭐
Speed: 2🚤🚤
Ability: Shield 🛡️🛡️
Health: 7 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Armor 3 🪖🪖🪖
Attack: Melee
Mana: 8
The shield ability of Mycelic Infantry worked very well. Mycelic Infantry was difficult to eliminate due to shield 🛡️ ability. Mycelic Infantry led the attack in the second round and it was eliminated in the second round.
Grund
Splinter: Earth 🌎🌍
Level: 1 ⭐
Speed: 4 🚤🚤🚤🚤
Ability: Double attack
Health: 10 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Attack: Melee
Mana: 10
Grund was in the third position of the lineup. It led the attack in the third round. Blind ability of Fungus Flinger made it difficult to eliminate it as three Opponent's monsters mixed the attack.
Grund was finally eliminated in the round 4.
Grund is one of the sweetest monsters to use when melee Mayhem is given. The same reason I used Grund was the same thing my opponent used Coastal Sentry. In fact, he used Coastal Sentry as the last monster so that the monster could attack very well.
The double attack was the major reason we used those monsters.
Venari Marksrat
Splinter Neutral ⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️
Level: 2 ⭐⭐
Speed: 2 🚤🚤
Ability: Martyr
Health: 3 ❤️❤️❤️
Attack range
Mana: 3
I included Venari Marksrat in this battle for the following reason:
To increase the stats of adjacent monsters- that was the reason I placed Venari Marksrat in-between Quora Towershead and Grund. The moment it was eliminated, the stats of Quora Towershead and Grund increased.
Quora Towershead
Splinter: Earth 🌎🌍
Level: 1⭐
Speed: 4 🚤🚤🚤🚤
Ability: healing and Bloodlust
Health: 11 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Attack: Melee and Magic
Mana: 10
I knew that using Bloodlust monster would be of a good advantage to me in this battle.

Venari Markstrat
Splinter: Earth 🌎🌍
Level: 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Speed 2 🚤🚤
Ability: Martyr
Health: 4 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Attack: range
Mana: 3
I needed was to make Quora Towershead stronger in this battle and the best was to increase its stats. That was the reason I used two Martyrs monsters in-between Quora Towershead.
Unfortunately, fungus Flinger was not eliminated but the blind ability worked very well.

Round One
Venari Markstrat was the first monster that was eliminated in this battle; It was eliminated by Kulu Mastermind.
Djinn Chwala was the second monster that was eliminated. Flesh Golem was

Round Two
I'm the round 2 Flesh Golem was eliminated; Mycelic Infantry led that attack in round 2. Mycelic Infantry was eliminated in the round 2.

Round Three

Round four

In conclusion, at the end of the battle, I was left with two monsters- Quora Towershead and Fungus Flinger.
