Hello splinderlanders, how are you doing today? I claimed my season rewards some hours ago and it was awesome. There was not gold as usual but I got plenty of reward cards which were very good.
I played splinterlands for three days with the hope of getting a broken arrow in the battle; I did not get a broken arrow until the last minutes of brawl.
I was defeated by someone when a 'broken arrow rule' was given to me in ranked battle. I preferred to share my victory than share my defeat, that was the reason I did not share it.
The moment I got the opportunity, I never let the opportunity to slide me; I make sure I arranged my monsters to secure my victory.
Without the brawl opportunity, I don’t think I would have opportunity to share this week ‘battle mage secrets’ which is very important for me.
✅✅UNDERSTANDING BROKEN ARROW RULE IN BATTLES✅✅
The Broken arrow rule is one of the rulesets in splinterlands; the rule does not allow ranged monsters to be used in battles. Therefore, the moment broken arrow rule is among the rulesets given to you; have it in the back of your mind that ranged attack monsters will not be present for selection.
The absence of ranged monsters makes players think critically before selecting monsters and also gives players insight of opponent strategic i.e. opponent will use either magic or melee attacks.
Therefore, as a player, you can use melee or magic monsters to attack in these types of battles. With my little experience I had with broken arrow ruleset; most of my opponents always used magic attack monsters to attack me; and they used obsidian summoner more than any monster in splinterlands.
Since I understand how my opponent attacks me, I tend to be clinical when selecting my monsters.
My obsidian is in level 2 which could not confront some of my opponents’ obsidian. This is the reason I used Alric Stormbringer which has the capacity to increase all magic monsters with additional +1 magic attack just like Obsidian.
Also, I used monsters with silence ability to reduce the magic attack of my opponents; this is whenever I used Earth summoners.
Some of these players used Magic reflection monsters in their lineup which posed threat to my monster most times; This is another reason I combined magic and melee monsters when the rule is given.
When I understood that my opponent frequently used magic monsters; this made me use melee monsters with different abilities such as sneak and opportunity; I have used this strategy to win most of the time broken arrow is given.
✅✅RULESET✅✅
Broken Arrow: Ranged attack monsters may not be used in battle. It is clearly stated in this rule that ranged monsters would not be available.

✅✅MANA COSTS✅✅
47 mana was given in this battle: That was the reason I introduced heavy monsters.
This is what I do whenever I have the opportunity to use high mana in battles.
This is the reason most of the monsters I used in this battle were high mana monsters.
Using monsters with lower mana cost when high mana cost is given has disadvantages.
✅✅WHY DO I USED ALRIC STORMBRINGER?✅✅
I had a 70% probability that my opponent would come with two summoners which are Obsidian or Alric stormbringer; I knew choosing Alric stormbringer over other monsters would give me advantages to win the battle because my Alric stormbringer is in level 4 while Obsidian is in level 2.
Therefore, My Alric Stormbringer is stronger than Obsidian.
✅✅MONSTERS ARRANGEMENT✅✅
THE KRAKEN: To allow Kraken to attack in this battle; first position is the best.
The first position was the only position where it could function very well.
The Kraken was the only monster with the highest number of base health while selecting monsters; Kraken’s health made it to survive till round 2 despite heavy attack by opponent monsters.
All opponent’s monsters were attacking kraken; yet the monster was able to reach the end of round 2.
My aim for using the kraken was achieved when it was able to reach round 2; I used Kraken to delay opponent monsters.
Before The kraken was eliminated, two monsters from the opponent were already eliminated which were Mycelic Slipspawn and Grund.
Taunt ability was another reason for using the Kraken; all monsters are attracted to taunt ability except an exceptional rule, summoner and monster.
This taunt was a big deal to me, I knew Kraken would serve as bait to opponent monsters.
DJINN OSHANNUS: I was very sure that the kraken would be eliminated because there would be a heavy attack due to the high mana given in this battle.
Introduction of djinn oshanuus was a strategic for sustainability in this battle; I knew that my opponent would come with bunches of magic ability monsters. Then, the void ability of Djinn oshannus was a great help to reduce the magic attacks of the opponent monsters.
Djinn oshannus could not be destroyed due to its void ability; and oshannus was able to lead the battle.
NERISAA TRIDAWN: Nerissa's magic ability was a vital contribution to the defeat of the opponent monsters. Nerissa was the only monster with 4-magic attack in this battle; and the 4-magic was incredible. The 4-magic attack was the main reason for selecting it.
ISGARD VORST: Like what I have said, it is good to use melee monsters in this kind of battle ruleset. Using only magic monsters may not be appropriate because opponents may use monsters that would cause havoc to all magic monsters such as reflection monsters.
DEEPLURKER: When Mycelic Slipspawn was eliminated in this battle, Isgard Vorst and Deeplurker attacked monsters with lowest health; when Grund was left with three health, it was eliminated by deeplurker.
MERDAALI GUARDIAN: The healing ability was to support monster in the first position. If not Merdaali Guardian, the Kraken might not be able to reach round two in this battle.
In conclusion, this battle was awesome; only one monster was eliminated in my lineup. The rest of my monsters were not destroyed.
In addition, this is the reason I love to use the combination of mele and magic monster of various abilities. If my opponent used an opportunity monster, the moment Kraken was eliminated, the opportunity monster would have attacked Merdaali Guardian in this battle.
Therefore, Broken Arrow requires players to combine different monsters with different abilities such as melee monsters with sneak and opportunity abilities; and magic monsters with sneak and snipe abilities.
I stand up for success, and success is not achieved by merely making mouth, No room for laziness, no room for idleness. Success comes to the people who are desperately and consciously searching for it. When it seems unsuccessful or you smell failure around you, never discourage yourself to be successful.
