Keeping aside their preference, they want to be parents, and I believe that it's a heavenly feeling for parents. I haven't experienced it, but I can guess it, judging by the happiness of parents. It is unfortunate for some parents who can't be parents due to health issues or for some other reason. They can adopt one, but most people don't go for it.

Maybe it's because of the complex procedure, otherwise thinking about the future complexity of the child. Another thing is that in most cases it has been seen that parents cannot connect to the child deeply as they should, which can be due to genetic differences—who knows? But now, because of modern science, many things can be possible. Now it is possible to raise the fetus in the womb of others, but the baby will carry the genetic material of the real parents. It's only the other female who will carry the fetus till it comes into this world.
It seems very simple to hear, but it's a very complex thing that can be understood with the growth of the fetus. There is a formal procedure in such a case. One woman is carrying the fetus of another woman, and I guess it's not for free, at least in this present world. People are selfish, and nobody can be trusted fully, so legal paperwork is very much necessary to protect the rights of both the surrogate mother and the real parents. In that case, nobody can go back on their word.
Carrying a baby for 9 months is not a little time, and you have gone through a lot of hormonal changes. I believe that having affection for the baby is very natural unless the woman does it for business only. If we stay in a place for a few months, we feel reluctant to leave the place, and in the case of carrying a baby for a long time, it is something a woman may be reluctant to let go of, which can be understandable. But the surrogate mother doesn't have any right to keep the baby with her. She must give the baby to the real parents.
I also heard that some women choose to threaten the real parents with the baby's life, also, and for that reason, legal paperwork exists. But should a surrogate mother have any influence in the life of the baby? My honest answer is "NO." I said no, thinking about several things.
Firstly, by law, the real parent has the right to interfere in the affairs of the children. The interference of two mothers (surrogate & real) can bring trouble for the child, especially in growth. Various kinds of conflicts may arise in that case. So it's better not to interfere.
But in the case of keeping connections, I think there is nothing wrong as long as the real parents don't have any issues with it. If a child can receive motherly love from two women, then it's not bad. It actually depends on the connection or relation of the surrogate mother with the real parents. So my words are very simple about it. In case of interference, the surrogate mother should not have any right or inches of connection. It's ok as long as the surrogate mother loves the child and the real parents have no issue with it.
